Terms of Use

Quran Course (qurancourse.com) offers Islamic learning material and a community for learners, free of charge. It is run by an individual (not a company or organisation) as a non-commercial, voluntary project. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Who can join

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian first. One account per person, please.

Your account

• Use a real email address you have access to, and keep your password to yourself.
• You are responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell us.
• Don't pretend to be someone else, including scholars, teachers or organisations.

Community rules

The community is a place to learn together with good manners (adab). When you post, comment, write or message:

• Be respectful. Disagree with evidence and courtesy - no insults, mockery, harassment or threats.
• Don't attack or declare others outside the fold of Islam, and don't attack scholars, schools of thought or groups.
• Don't present your own opinion as an authoritative ruling (fatwa). Mention your sources where you can.
• No hate speech, and nothing that encourages violence or breaks the law.
• No sexual or indecent content.
• No spam, advertising or fundraising without permission.
• Don't share other people's private information, and don't post material you don't have the right to share.
• Keep group posts on the topic of the group, and keep private messages welcome - stop if someone asks you to.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it on the site, you allow us to store it and show it on the site to the people it is meant for, free of charge, for as long as it stays on the site. This permission ends when you delete it or your account (copies in backups disappear when the backups are overwritten).

You are responsible for what you post and confirm that you have the right to share it.

Review and moderation

• Posts, comments and articles are reviewed before they appear, and may be declined.
• We may remove any content, and suspend or delete any account, that breaks these terms or harms the community.
• We try to be fair, but we aren't obliged to publish anything or give reasons in every case.
• You can report problems or abuse through the contact form.

Learning material

The material on this site is shared in good faith for learning. It is not a replacement for studying with a qualified scholar, and we cannot guarantee that everything is complete or free of mistakes - please tell us if you find one. Some books and materials belong to their authors and publishers: use them for your own study and please do not republish them without permission.

No guarantees

The site is provided free and "as is". We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by using the site, by content posted by other members, or by the site being unavailable.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not take away any protection you have under the laws of the country where you live.

Changes and contact
