“伊拉赫”（Ilaah）、“拉比”（Rabb）、“丁”（Deen）和“伊巴达”（’Ibadah）这四个术语，是《古兰经》全部教义的基础。经文通篇反复强调：安拉至高无上，是拉比，也是伊拉赫；除祂之外没有伊拉赫，也没有其他拉比；祂不与任何人分享这些词所蕴含的品质与属性。因此，唯有祂才应被承认为人的伊拉赫和拉比，任何他者都不应被认为丝毫拥有这些词所暗示的属性。经文还要求我们只将伊巴达献给祂一人，而不献给其他任何人，并使我们的丁专属于祂，拒绝一切其他的丁！

Ilaah, Rabb, Deen and ’Ibadah, are four terms basic to the whole teaching of the Qur'ān. Throughout its pages, it stresses again and again that Allah Almighty is the Rabb and the Ilaah; that there is no ilaah but He, nor is there any other rabb, nor does He share with anyone else the qualities and attributes implied by these terms. He, and He alone should therefore be accepted as one’s Ilaah and Rabb, and no one else should in the least be believed to possess the attributes which these words imply. It also demands that we should give our ibadah to Him and Him alone, and not to anyone else, and make our deen exclusive to Him and reject all other deens!

上面所引的经文只是举例，并非仅有的此类经文。任何人只要对《古兰经》稍作深入研读，便会很快意识到，全书的内容都围绕这四个词展开，而全书的核心思想正是：真主是Rabb（主宰），也是Ilaah（应受崇拜的主）；除祂之外，无人拥有这些术语所蕴含的品质与属性；因此人们应当将他们的'ibadah（崇拜）献给祂一人，并且独尊祂一位；一个人的deen（宗教／信仰）应当专属于祂，不得分给任何其他对象。

The verses quoted above are just by way of example, and not the only ones of their kind. Whosoever makes more than a cursory study of the Qur'ān will soon realise that the entire contents revolve round these four terms only, and that the central idea of the whole book is that: Allah is the Rabb, and the Ilaah; No one else possesses the qualities and attributes implied by these terms; Wherefore men should give their ’ibadah to Him and Him alone; and one’s deen should be exclusively for Him with no share of it for any other.
