تتناول هذه الدراسة الإنسان وفهمَ مستوى رفعته أو انحطاطه، وطريقةَ معرفة ذلك الصادرة عن أفعاله وسلوكياته، سواء كان ذلك في الفرد أو في الجماعة، إذ تتعلق الدراسة بالإنسان بوصفه إنساناً. ولذلك فمن الضروري فهمُ هذا الإنسان على حقيقته، حتى نعلم متى ينحط ومتى يرتفع. ويقتضي فهمُ الإنسان فهمَ الدافع المحرّك لأفعاله وسلوكياته، وفهمَ الكيفية التي تجري بها، إضافةً إلى ما يضبط سلوك هذا الإنسان، ومدى موافقته لسلوك الجماعة أو المجتمع ممن يحيط به.

This study concerns the human and understanding his level of elevation or decline and the way of ascertaining that emanates from his actions and behaviours whether this applies upon an individual or a group, as the study relates to the human in his capacity as a human being. Therefore it is essential to understand this human upon his true reality, so that we can know when he is declined and when he is elevated. Understanding the human requires an understanding of the motivating factor for the actions and behaviours, understanding the manner in which they proceed in addition to that which controls the behaviour of this human and his conformity to the behaviour of the group or collective from amongst those who surround him.

نعم، من الصحيح أن النظر إلى الإنسان يندرج تحت النظرة الكلية إلى الكون بأسره وما يشتمل عليه من حياة، غير أن الإنسان الذي يتناسب مع هذا الكون يتميز عن سائر المخلوقات بخصائص وصفات تخصه وحده. فمع كونه جزءًا ماديًا من الكون والخلق، ومن صور الحياة التي تدبّ على الأرض، فإنه يختلف عن هذا الخلق اختلافًا تامًا، بسبب ما خصّه الله (سبحانه وتعالى) به من العقل، وما أُعطيه من الفهم والإدراك. ولهذا السبب سخّر الله ما في الخلق لخدمة الإنسان، رحمةً منه وفضلًا عليه.
