Allaah (SWT) bepaalt en beslist zowel het wetgevende besluit (datgene wat Hij wenst en gebiedt en dat wel of niet kan gebeuren) als het universele besluit (datgene wat Hij wellicht wel of niet wenst, maar dat toch moet gebeuren). Allaah bepaalt en beslist alles wat gebeurt vanwege Zijn oneindige, volmaakte wijsheid.

Allaah () decrees and decides both the legislative decree (that which He likes and commands and may or may not happen) and the universal decree (that which He may or may not like, yet must happen). Allaah decrees and decides everything that happens due to His infinite, perfect wisdom.

Wat betreft de bewoording, “niemand beslist tegen U in,” dit betekent dat er niemand anders is die iets kan beslissen buiten Zijn wil om. Dus de dienaren zullen nooit oordelen of een beslissing nemen boven die van Allaah, terwijl Allaah hen zeker zal oordelen. En Hij zal Zijn dienaren ondervragen, en niemand zal Hem ooit ondervragen, zoals Hij zegt: “Hij wordt niet ondervraagd over wat Hij doet, maar zij zullen worden ondervraagd.” [Soorah al-Anbiyaa, 21:23]

As for the wording, “no one decrees against You,” this means that there is none other that can decree anything over and beyond His will. So the servants will never judge or make any decision over Allaah’s, while Allaah will certainly judge them. And He will question His servants, and no one will ever question Him as He says, “He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.” [Soorah al-Anbiyaa, 21:23]
