গোসল ফরয হওয়ার ছয়টি কারণ রয়েছে। কারণগুলো নিম্নরূপ:

There are six factors that make Ghusl obligatory. The factors are as follows:

১. পুরুষের লজ্জাস্থানের অগ্রভাগ (গ্লান্স) নারীর লজ্জাস্থানের ভেতরে প্রবেশ করানো

1. To get glans (2) of male’s private part into female’s private one

২. বীর্যপাত ঘটানো

2. To discharge semen

৩. কোনো মুসলিম শহীদ হওয়া ব্যতীত মৃত্যুবরণ করা

3. To occur death to a Muslim who has not been martyred

৪. হায়েযের (মাসিক স্রাবের) মেয়াদ অনুভব করা

4. To experience the menstrual course

৫. সন্তান প্রসবের পর রক্ত প্রবাহিত হওয়া

5. To flow blood after childbirth

৬. সন্তান জন্ম দেওয়া

6. To give birth to a child

নিচে উল্লিখিত দুটি কাজ গোসলে ফরয:

The below mentioned two acts are compulsory in Ghusl:

১. শরীরের প্রথম অংশ ধোয়ার সময় নিয়ত করা

1. To make intention when washing the first part of the body

২. পানি সমস্ত শরীর এবং চুলের গোড়ায় পৌঁছানো

2. To let water reach the entire body and the roots of hair

গোসলে অনেক সুন্নাত কাজ রয়েছে। সেগুলোর কিছু নিম্নরূপ:

There are many Sunnah acts in Ghusl. Some of them are as follows:

১. ইস্তিনজা করা

1. To make Istinjaa

২. গোসল করার আগে ওযু করা

2. To perform Wudhoo before taking a bath

৩. শরীর মর্দন করা

3. To rub the body

৪. শরীরের ডান দিক ও অঙ্গ দিয়ে শুরু করা

4. To begin with the right and side of the body

৫. তিনবার পানি ঢালা

5. To pour water three times

৬. পূর্ববর্তী অঙ্গ শুকানোর আগেই পরবর্তী অঙ্গ ধোয়া।

6. To wash the next part of the body before the former gets dry

যে শর্তগুলো ওযূর বৈধতার জন্য আবশ্যক, সেগুলো গোসলের বৈধতার জন্যও আবশ্যক।

The factors that are conditional for the validity of Wudhoo are conditional for the validity of Ghusl as well.

ওযূতে যেসব কাজ মাকরূহ, গোসলেও সেগুলো মাকরূহ।

The acts which are Makrooh in Wudhoo are also Makrooh in Ghusl.
