Sistem kerja dan waktu di Negara Khilafah adalah kalender Hijriah. Tahun Hijriah terdiri dari 354 hari dengan 3 hari disisihkan untuk hari-hari Idul Fitri yang penuh berkah dan tujuh hari untuk Idul Adha. Dengan demikian, 344 hari tersisa untuk dibagi di antara 4 semester sekolah sebagaimana ditunjukkan pada bagan berikut:

The system of work and time in the Khilafah State is the Hijri calendar. The Hijri year is composed of 354 days with 3 days set aside for the days of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr and seven days for Eid Al-Adha. Thus 344 days remain to be divided between the 4 school terms as shown in the following chart:

Kursus sekolah pertama dimulai pada hari pertama Muharram Al-Haram setiap tahun selama 83 hari, termasuk hari-hari Jumat yang jatuh dalam periode tersebut; periode ini juga mencakup masa ujian akhir semester tersebut. Oleh karena itu, kursus berakhir 83 hari setelah dimulainya. Kemudian, kursus berikutnya dimulai setelah libur selama 3 hari di akhir semester sebelumnya.

The first school course commences on the first day of Muharram Al-Haram every year for a period of 83 days including the Fridays occurring in that period; it also includes the final examination period of that term. The course therefore ends after 83 days from its start. Then the next course commences after a holiday of 3 days at the end of the previous term.

Term keempat merupakan term yang istimewa karena mencakup bulan Ramadhan serta hari-hari yang penuh berkah, yaitu Idul Fitri dan Idul Adha. Sebagian siswa atau guru mungkin mengambil seluruh term tersebut sebagai liburan untuk menunaikan kewajiban haji, atau umrah, atau untuk bepergian. Sebagian lainnya juga dapat menunaikan kewajiban haji pada liburan Idul Adha yang penuh berkah, yang berlangsung selama 7 hari.

The fourth term is a distinguished one as it includes the month of Ramadhan as well as blessed days of the Eids of Al-Fitr and Al-Adha. Some students or teachers may take the whole term as a holiday to perform the obligation of Hajj, or Umrah or to travel. Some may also perform the obligation of Hajj in the holiday of the blessed Eid Al-Adha which totals 7 days.
