Es ist bekannt, dass Abu Huraira die umfangreichste Sammlung von Ahadith überlieferte, die zudem schriftlich festgehalten wurde. Imam Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr überliefert auf die Autorität von Hasan ibn ʿAmr, der sagt:

It is known that Abu Huraira recorded the largest collection of Ahadith, which was also documented. Imam Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr narrates on the authority of Hasan ibn ‘Amr, who says:

Ich habe Abū Huraira ein Hadith überliefert, doch er wies es zurück. Ich sagte: „Ich habe dieses Hadith von dir gehört.“

I narrated a hadīth to Abñ Huraira but he rejected it. I said, “I have heard this hadīth from you.”.

Er sagte: „Wenn du dieses Hadith von mir gehört hast, dann muss ich es aufschreiben lassen.“ Er nahm meine Hand und führte mich in sein Zimmer. Er zeigte mir seine Bibliothek mit Büchern, die seine Überlieferungen vom gesegneten Propheten ﷺ enthielten. Er fand das Hadith, das ich überliefert hatte, in den Büchern. Danach sagte Abū Huraira zu mir:

He said, “If you have heard this hadīth from me, then I must have it written down.” He held my hand and took me to his room. He showed me his library of books that comprised of his narrations from the Blessed Prophet (PBUH). He found the hadīth I had narrated in the books. After that, Abñ Huraira said to me, .

„Habe ich euch nicht gesagt, dass ich, wenn ich euch irgendein Hadith überliefere, es aufgeschrieben haben muss?“35.

“Did I not tell you that if I narrated any hadīth to you I must have it written down?”35.

Hafiz Ibn Hajar hat diesen Hadith auch in seinem Buch Fath al-Bari mit einer anderen Überlieferungskette überliefert. Dieser Vorfall beweist, dass Abu Huraira nicht nur einige wenige Ahadith niedergeschrieben hat, sondern tatsächlich alle Ahadith, die schließlich seinen Bestand an Hadith-Büchern bildeten.

Hafiz ibn Hajar has also narrated this hadīth in his book, Fatú al- Bari, with another chain. This incident proves that Abu Huraira did not document only a few aúódõth, but in fact all the ahadith which eventually became his store of hadīth books.

Doch diese Methode der Bewahrung beschränkte sich nicht darauf. Auch seine Schüler schrieben die Ḥadīthe nieder, die sie von ihm hörten. Ein Schüler namens Baschīr ibn Nuhaiq schrieb:

However this method of preservation does not stop here. Even his students wrote the aúódõth they heard from him. One student named Bashir ibn Nuhaiq wrote:

Ich schrieb alle Ahadith nieder, die ich von Abu Huraira hörte. Als ich mich entschloss zu gehen, las ich ihm an seiner Seite alle Ahadith vor, die er mir überliefert hatte. Dann fragte ich: „Sind das alle Ahadith, die du mir überliefert hast?“

I wrote down whatever aúódõth I heard from Abu Huraira. When I decided to leave, I read all the aúódõth he narrated to me by his side. Then I asked, “Are these all the aúódõth you narrated to me?”.

Er antwortete: „Ja.“36

He replied, “Yes.”36
