É sabido que Abu Huraira registrou a maior coleção de Ahadith, e que ela também foi documentada. O Imam Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr narra por meio de Hasan ibn ‘Amr, que disse:

It is known that Abu Huraira recorded the largest collection of Ahadith, which was also documented. Imam Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr narrates on the authority of Hasan ibn ‘Amr, who says:

Narrei um hadīth a Abū Hurayra, mas ele o rejeitou. Eu disse: "Eu ouvi este hadīth de você."

I narrated a hadīth to Abñ Huraira but he rejected it. I said, “I have heard this hadīth from you.”.

Ele disse: “Se você ouviu este hadīth de mim, então eu preciso ter isso escrito.” Ele segurou minha mão e me levou ao seu quarto. Mostrou-me sua biblioteca de livros que continha suas narrações do Santo Profeta ﷺ. Ele encontrou o hadīth que eu havia narrado nos livros. Depois disso, Abū Hurayra me disse: .

He said, “If you have heard this hadīth from me, then I must have it written down.” He held my hand and took me to his room. He showed me his library of books that comprised of his narrations from the Blessed Prophet (PBUH). He found the hadīth I had narrated in the books. After that, Abñ Huraira said to me, .

“Não te disse eu que, se eu te narrasse algum hadith, deverias tê-lo escrito?”35.

“Did I not tell you that if I narrated any hadīth to you I must have it written down?”35.

O Hafiz ibn Hajar também narrou este hadith em seu livro, Fath al-Bari, com outra cadeia de transmissão. Este episódio prova que Abu Huraira não registrou apenas alguns poucos ahadith, mas, na verdade, todos os ahadith que acabaram por constituir o seu acervo de livros de hadith.

Hafiz ibn Hajar has also narrated this hadīth in his book, Fatú al- Bari, with another chain. This incident proves that Abu Huraira did not document only a few aúódõth, but in fact all the ahadith which eventually became his store of hadīth books.

Entretanto, esse método de preservação não parou por aí. Até os seus alunos registravam por escrito os aḥādīth que ouviam dele. Um aluno chamado Bashir ibn Nuhaiq escreveu:

However this method of preservation does not stop here. Even his students wrote the aúódõth they heard from him. One student named Bashir ibn Nuhaiq wrote:

Eu escrevi tudo o que ouvi de Abu Huraira em forma de ahadith. Quando decidi partir, li todos os ahadith que ele me narrou ao seu lado. Então perguntei: "Estes são todos os ahadith que você me narrou?".

I wrote down whatever aúódõth I heard from Abu Huraira. When I decided to leave, I read all the aúódõth he narrated to me by his side. Then I asked, “Are these all the aúódõth you narrated to me?”.

Ele respondeu: “Sim.”36

He replied, “Yes.”36
