El sistema de trabajo y de tiempo en el Estado del Califato es el calendario hiyrí. El año hiyrí se compone de 354 días, de los cuales 3 días se reservan para los días del bendito Eid al-Fitr y siete días para el Eid al-Adha. Así, quedan 344 días para repartirse entre los 4 trimestres escolares, como se muestra en el siguiente cuadro:

The system of work and time in the Khilafah State is the Hijri calendar. The Hijri year is composed of 354 days with 3 days set aside for the days of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr and seven days for Eid Al-Adha. Thus 344 days remain to be divided between the 4 school terms as shown in the following chart:

El primer curso escolar comienza el primer día de Muharram Al-Haram cada año, durante un período de 83 días que incluye los viernes que caen en ese período; también incluye el período de exámenes finales de ese trimestre. Por lo tanto, el curso termina 83 días después de su inicio. Luego, el siguiente curso comienza después de unas vacaciones de 3 días al final del trimestre anterior.

The first school course commences on the first day of Muharram Al-Haram every year for a period of 83 days including the Fridays occurring in that period; it also includes the final examination period of that term. The course therefore ends after 83 days from its start. Then the next course commences after a holiday of 3 days at the end of the previous term.

El cuarto trimestre es un periodo distinguido, pues incluye el mes de Ramadán, así como los benditos días de las fiestas del Eid al-Fitr y del Eid al-Adha. Algunos estudiantes o profesores pueden tomar todo el trimestre como vacaciones para cumplir con la obligación del Hach, o la Umrah, o para viajar. Algunos también pueden cumplir con la obligación del Hach durante las vacaciones del bendito Eid al-Adha, que suman 7 días.

The fourth term is a distinguished one as it includes the month of Ramadhan as well as blessed days of the Eids of Al-Fitr and Al-Adha. Some students or teachers may take the whole term as a holiday to perform the obligation of Hajj, or Umrah or to travel. Some may also perform the obligation of Hajj in the holiday of the blessed Eid Al-Adha which totals 7 days.
