Le système de travail et de temps dans l'État du califat est le calendrier Hijri. L'année Hijri est composée de 354 jours, avec 3 jours réservés pour les jours de l'Aïd Al-Fitr béni et sept jours pour l'Aïd Al-Adha. Ainsi, il reste 344 jours à répartir entre les 4 trimestres scolaires comme indiqué dans le tableau suivant :

The system of work and time in the Khilafah State is the Hijri calendar. The Hijri year is composed of 354 days with 3 days set aside for the days of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr and seven days for Eid Al-Adha. Thus 344 days remain to be divided between the 4 school terms as shown in the following chart:

Le premier cycle scolaire commence le premier jour de Muharram Al-Haram chaque année pour une période de 83 jours, incluant les vendredis survenant durant cette période ; il inclut également la période des examens finaux de ce trimestre. Le cycle se termine donc après 83 jours à compter de son début. Ensuite, le cycle suivant commence après un congé de 3 jours à la fin du trimestre précédent.

The first school course commences on the first day of Muharram Al-Haram every year for a period of 83 days including the Fridays occurring in that period; it also includes the final examination period of that term. The course therefore ends after 83 days from its start. Then the next course commences after a holiday of 3 days at the end of the previous term.

Le quatrième terme est particulier car il inclut le mois de ramadan ainsi que les jours bénis des fêtes de l'Aïd al-Fitr et de l'Aïd al-Adha. Certains étudiants ou enseignants peuvent prendre l'intégralité du terme comme vacances pour accomplir l'obligation du pèlerinage (Hajj), du petit pèlerinage (Umrah) ou pour voyager. Certains peuvent également accomplir l'obligation du pèlerinage (Hajj) durant les vacances de la bénie fête de l'Aïd al-Adha qui totalisent 7 jours.

The fourth term is a distinguished one as it includes the month of Ramadhan as well as blessed days of the Eids of Al-Fitr and Al-Adha. Some students or teachers may take the whole term as a holiday to perform the obligation of Hajj, or Umrah or to travel. Some may also perform the obligation of Hajj in the holiday of the blessed Eid Al-Adha which totals 7 days.
