À la fin des cycles scolaires et après que l'élève a terminé avec succès 36 trimestres, il passe l'examen général, c'est-à-dire l'« Examen général pour les cycles scolaires ». L'élève peut également terminer le cycle avec succès sans passer l'examen général ; il existe des instituts industriels et professionnels qui ne requièrent pas, en principe, que l'élève obtienne l'examen général pour les cycles scolaires.

At the end of the school stages and after the student successfully completes 36 terms, he sits the general exam i.e. “General Examination for the School Stages.” The student can also successfully complete the stage without taking the general exam; there are industrial and vocational institutes that do not in principle require the student’s attaining the general examination for the school stages.

L'« Examen Général » se tient deux fois par an. La première fois durant le mois de Jumada Al-Awwal chaque année, et la seconde fois durant le mois de Shawwal. Des experts fixeront chaque année la date des épreuves ainsi que l'emploi du temps de l'examen. L'étudiant choisit de passer l'examen au mois de Jumada Al-Awwal ou de Shawwal lors de sa pré-inscription à l'examen.

- The “General Examination” is held twice every year. The first time in the month of Jumada Al-Awwal every year, and the second time in the month of Shawwal. Experts will assign the date for sitting and timetable of the exam every year. The student chooses whether to sit the exam in the month of Jumada Al-Awwal or Shawwal via his pre-registering for the exam.

Des examens séparés sont organisés pour chacune des options de la troisième étape scolaire. Il y a un examen pour les options culturelle, scientifique, industrielle et autres. Chaque option dispose d'un emploi du temps spécifique.
