This is a document from Muhammad, the Prophet (peace be upon him), between the Muslims and believers from Quraish and Yathrib, and those who followed them, joined with them and strove alongside them, that they are one single Ummah (nation) to the exclusion of all the people.

This is a document from Muhammad, the Prophet, the Messenger of Allah, between the believers and Muslims from Quraish and the people of Yathrib, and those who followed them, then joined with them, resided with them and strove with them, that they are one Ummah to the exclusion of the people.

Verily, the believers shall not leave any indebted person from among them without him being provided for, on a fair and reasonable basis, in respect to ransom or blood money.
Certes, les croyants ne laisseront aucun débiteur parmi eux sans lui venir en aide, sur une base juste et raisonnable, en ce qui concerne la rançon ou le prix du sang.
Verily, the believers shall not leave any indebted person from among them without assisting him, on a fair and reasonable basis, in respect to ransom or blood money
Un croyant ne doit pas conclure d'alliance avec le Mawla (esclave affranchi qui maintient sa loyauté ou un client) d'un croyant sans le consentement de ce dernier.
A believer shall not enter into alliance with the Mawla (freed slave who maintains loyalty or a client) of a believer without the latter’s consent.

Les croyants et les pieux se tiennent ensemble contre celui qui se rebelle ou cherche à instaurer l'injustice, le crime, l'agression ou la corruption parmi les croyants. Leurs mains sont toutes unies contre lui, même s'il était le fils de l'un d'entre eux.
The believers and God- fearing stand together against the one who rebels or seeks to insert injustice, crime, aggression or corruption among the believers. Their hands are all united against him, even if he was the son of one of them.
Les croyants et les pieux se dressent contre celui qui parmi eux se rebelle ou cherche à introduire l'injustice, le crime, l'agression ou la corruption parmi les croyants. Leurs mains sont toutes unies contre lui, même s'il était le fils de l'un d'entre eux.
The believers and God- fearing stand against the one who rebels from among them or seeks to insert injustice, crime, aggression or corruption among the believers. Their hands are all united against him, even if he was the son of one of them.
Un croyant ne doit pas tuer un autre croyant pour le compte d'un mécréant.
A believer shall not kill another believer for the sake of a disbeliever.

The peace of the believers is one. No peace is made by a Muslim separate to another Muslim in the fighting in the way of Allah, except upon the basis of mutual even handedness and justice.
La paix des croyants est une. Aucune paix n'est conclue par un musulman séparément d'un autre musulman dans le combat dans la voie d'Allah, si ce n'est sur la base d'une équité et d'une justice mutuelles.
The peace of the believers is one. No peace is made by a Muslim separate to another Muslim in the fighting in the way of Allah, except upon the basis of mutual even handedness and justice.
En ce qui concerne chaque détachement militaire qui part avec nous, il sera suivi l'un après l'autre.
In respect to every military attachment that goes out with us, it will be followed one after the other.

No polytheist shall protect a property or person belonging to Quraysh; nor shall he protect him against a believer.

It is not permissible for a believer who affirms what is stated in this document or believes in Allah and the last day, to provide assistance or shelter to a criminal.
Et quiconque l'aide ou lui accorde un refuge, la malédiction et la colère d'Allah seront sur lui au Jour du Jugement. Rien ne sera alors accepté de lui.
And whoever helps or shelters him, will have the curse and anger of Allah upon him on the Day of Judgement. Nothing will then be accepted from him.
Ainsi, quiconque aide ou protège une telle personne subira la malédiction et la colère d'Allah en lui au Jour du Jugement. Rien ne sera accepté de sa part.
So, whoever helps or shelters such a person, will have the curse and anger of Allah upon him on the Day of Judgement. Nothing will be accepted from him.
Quoi que vous ayez sur quoi vous soyez en désaccord dans une affaire, cela doit être rapporté à Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla et à Muhammad ﷺ.
Whatever you have differed upon in any matter, then it must be referred to Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla and to Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Quoi que vous ayez sur quoi vous soyez en désaccord dans une affaire, alors son verdict revient à Allah, Glorifié et Exalté soit-Il, et au Messager ﷺ.

Good and upright conduct is demanded and not bad or criminal conduct (i.e. from the parties of the Sahifa).

And the close or intimate friends/associates of the Jews are like them.
Aucun d'entre eux ne partira [en guerre] sans la permission de Muhammad ﷺ.
None from among them shall go out [to war] without the permission of Muhammad (peace be upon him).

They must support one another against those who make war against the people of this Sahifah (document).
Mais nul ne sera empêché de prendre vengeance pour les blessures infligées.
But none shall be prevented from taking vengeance for wounds inflicted.
Quiconque agit de sa propre initiative (par vengeance) s'en prend à lui-même et à sa famille, excepté celui qui a été lésé.
Whoever acts on his own account (in vengeance) [involves] himself and his family, except him who has been wronged.
Allah accepte ce qu'il y a de plus droit.
Allah is accepting of what is most upright.
Les Juifs doivent assumer leurs dépenses et ils sont tenus à la sincérité et à la droiture, sans qu'un mauvais comportement (ne soit exercé à leur encontre).
The Jews must bear their expenses and they are due sincerity and upright conduct without bad conduct (being undertaken against them).
Nul ne doit commettre un crime contre son allié.
No one must perpetrate a crime against his ally.

(Mutual sincerity is demanded) and support must be provided to the wronged (oppressed).

The neighbour is like the self; not being harmed and not having a crime perpetrated against him
Aucune femme ne doit être sous la protection de quelqu'un sans le consentement de sa famille.
No woman is to be provided protection except with the consent of her family.
Tout différend ou querelle entre les personnes de ce document, dont la corruption (ou le préjudice) est redoutée, doit être référé à Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla et à Muhammad ﷺ.
Any occurrence or quarrel between the people of this document, the corruption (or harm) of which is feared, must be referred to Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla and to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

If they (the Jews) are invited to a Sulh (peace treaty) which they (the believers) are concluding and conforming to, then they must conclude and conform to it.
S'ils (les croyants) invitent les Juifs à un Sulh (traité de paix) avec l'un de leurs alliés, alors ils doivent (également) conclure une trêve avec cet allié.
If they (the believers) invite the Jews to a Sulh (peace treaty) with an ally of theirs, then they must (also) conclude a truce with that ally.
Et s'ils (les Juifs) appellent à quelque chose de similaire, alors les croyants doivent y répondre, sauf envers celui qui fait la guerre au nom de la religion (Deen). Et chaque peuple doit accomplir sa part de son côté envers ceux dont il est responsable.
And if they (the Jews) invite to something similar to that, then the believers should respond to that, except with the one who makes war on account of the Deen (religion). And each people are to fulfil their share from their side to those they are responsible for.
Et s'ils nous invitent à quelque chose de similaire, alors c'est un droit pour eux sur les croyants (que nous répondions par l'affirmative), excepté pour celui qui fait la guerre contre la religion (Deen). Et chaque peuple assume la responsabilité de sa part de la Nafaqah (dépenses de subsistance).
And if they invite us to something similar to that, then it is a right for them upon the believers (that we respond affirmatively), except for the one who makes war against the Deen (religion). And each people take responsibility for their share of the Nafaqah (maintenance expenditure).
