Dazu gehört das Thema, wie und woher der Westen sein Denken bezieht, d. h. das Thema der Methode, mit der jedes Wissen erlangt wird. Dazu gehören auch die Quelle und die Abhängigkeit des Gedankens. Wie zuvor erläutert, gibt sich der Westen als Vorreiter rationaler und wissenschaftlicher Methoden aus. Seine Denkmethode beruht daher auf diesen beiden Elementen: Rationalismus und Wissenschaft.
