আল্লাহ, মহান ও সর্বশক্তিমান, ঘোষণা করেছেন:

Allah the Almighty declared:

"এবং স্মরণ করো ইসমাঈল, ইদরীস ও যুলকিফলের কথা, তারা সবাই ছিলেন ধৈর্যশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।" (সূরা আল-আম্বিয়া: ৮৫-৮৬)

" Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl, all were from among those who observe patience." (Ch 21:85-86)

আয়ূব (আলাইহিস সালাম)-এর ঘটনার পরপরই কুরআনে মহান আল্লাহ এই নির্দেশও দিয়েছেন:

Immediately following Job's story in the Qur'an, Almighty Allah also directed:

আমার বান্দাদের কথা স্মরণ করো—ইবরাহীম, ইসহাক ও ইয়াকূবের কথা, যারা ছিলেন শক্তি-সামর্থ্যের অধিকারী (আমার ইবাদতে)।

"Remember Our slaves, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us)

এবং ধর্মীয় বোধের (জ্ঞানের) দিক থেকেও। নিশ্চয়ই আমি তাদেরকে (একটি উত্তম বৈশিষ্ট্য দিয়ে) পরকালের আবাসের স্মরণ দান করে মনোনীত করেছিলাম; তারা মানুষকে সেটির কথা স্মরণ করিয়ে দিত এবং আল্লাহর আনুগত্য করতে ও পরকালের জন্য সৎকর্ম করতে মানুষকে আহ্বান জানাত।

and also of religious understanding. Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing ) the remembrance of the home (in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter).

এবং নিশ্চয়ই তারা আমার দৃষ্টিতে মনোনীত ও সর্বোত্তমদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। আর স্মরণ করো ইসমাঈল, আল-ইয়াসাʿ এবং যুল-কিফল-এর কথা, তারা সবাই সর্বোত্তমদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

And they are in Our Sight, verily of the chosen and the best! Remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl all are among the best." (Ch 38:45-48)

স্পষ্টতই, মহান কুরআনে তাঁকে অন্যান্য নবীদের সাথে উল্লেখ করা ও প্রশংসা করার কারণে বোঝা যায় যে যুল-কিফল-ও একজন নবী ছিলেন।

It is obvious from his being mentioned and praised in the Glorious Quran along with those other prophets that Dhul - Kifl was also a prophet.

তবে কিছু কুরআন-ভাষ্যকার ধারণা করেছেন যে তিনি নবী ছিলেন না, বরং তিনি সৎকর্মশীল ও কঠোরভাবে ন্যায়পরায়ণ ছিলেন।

However, some of the Quranic commentators assumed that he was not a prophet but that he was righteous and strictly just.

ইবনু জারীর বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, তিনি নবী ছিলেন না, বরং একজন সৎকর্মপরায়ণ ব্যক্তি ছিলেন। তিনি তাঁর জাতির মানুষদের প্রয়োজন মেটাতে সহায়তা করতেন এবং তাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠা করতেন। এ কারণেই তাঁকে যুল-কিফল নামে ডাকা হতো।

Ibn Jarir narrated that he was not a prophet but he was a righteous man. He supported his people to suffice their needs and administered justice among them. That is why he was called Dhul - Kifl.

(যুল-কিফল শাব্দিকভাবে অর্থ "দ্বিগুণ প্রতিদান বা অংশের অধিকারী বা প্রদানকারী।")

(Dhul - Kifl literally means "possessor of, or giving, a double requital or portion".)
