৩৮৫. উম্মু কুলসুম, যিনি উকবা ইবনু আবী মু'আইত-এর কন্যা, বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, তিনি রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ-কে বলতে শুনেছেন, "যে ব্যক্তি ভালো কথা বলে বা ভালো কিছু বর্ণনা করে মানুষের মধ্যে মীমাংসা করে, সে মিথ্যাবাদী নয়।" তিনি বলেন, "মানুষ যেসব মিথ্যা ব্যবহার করে, তার মধ্যে তিনটি ক্ষেত্র ছাড়া আমি তাঁকে অন্য কোনো মিথ্যার ক্ষেত্রে অনুমতি দিতে শুনিনি: মানুষের মধ্যে মীমাংসার ক্ষেত্রে, স্বামী তার স্ত্রীর সাথে কথা বলার ক্ষেত্রে, এবং স্ত্রী তার স্বামীর সাথে কথা বলার ক্ষেত্রে।"

385. Umm Kulthum, the daughter of 'Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ayt, reported that she heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "Someone who makes peace between people by saying something good or relates something good is not a liar." She said, "I did not hear him make an allowance for any lie that people utilise except in three cases: making peace between people, a man speaking to his wife, and a woman speaking to her husband."
