إذا كان حُسن الظن يدعو إلى العمل والجِدّ فهو صحيح، أما إذا كان يدعو إلى الكسل والانغماس في المعاصي فهو غرور. فحسن الظن أمنيةٌ، فمن كانت أمنيته تهديه إلى طاعة الله ﷻ وتمنعه من ارتكاب المعاصي فهي أمنيةٌ صادقة، ومن كانت أمنيته أن يقعد عن العمل فهو مغرورٌ لا محالة. وذلك كمن يُحسن الظنَّ بالله ﷻ مع رغبةٍ قوية في بلوغ أعلى المنازل في الجنة، في نعيمٍ دائم، دون أن يطيع أوامر الله! قال الله تعالى: {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَ اللَّهِ} .

If a good opinion advocates work and action then 1t 1s correct, however if it recommends idleness and indulgence in sins, then it is deception. Good opinion is a wish, so whoever' s wish is guiding him to obey Allah ~' and preventing him from committing sins, then it is a sound wish; but whoever's wish is to stay idle, then he is definitely deceived. It is like someone who has good opinion of Allah ~' with a strong wish to achieve the highest level in Paradise, in an eternal Grace, without obeying the Commands of Allah! Allah ~ said: ( Verily, those who have believed, and those who have emigrated (for Allah's Religion) and have striven hard in the way of Allah; all these hope for Allah's Mercy) . 2

انظر إلى كيف جعل اللهُ ~ رجاءهم مبنيًّا على طاعته (آمنوا، وهاجروا في سبيل دينه، وجاهدوا بجد). ويقول المغرورون: "الذين يُضيعون حقوق الله (على عباده)، ويظلمون الناس، ويَنتهكون حُرُماته، هم أيضًا ممن يرجون رحمة الله." أما الرجاء وحُسن الظن بالله فإنما يكون حقًّا إذا جاء بالأسباب التي دلّت عليها حكمةُ الله ~ في وحيه، وقدَرِه، وثوابه، وكرمه. وعلى العبد أن يؤدي واجباته، ثم يحسن الظن بربه، ويسأل ربه أن يجعلها سببًا لنيل ثوابه.

Look at how Allah ~ made their hope based upon obeying Him (believed, emigrated for His Religion, and strived hard). The deceived people say: "Those who neglect the Rights of Allah (upon His Servants), act unjustly towards other people, and violate His sanctities, are also people who hope for Allah's ~ Mercy." However, having hope and a good opinion of Allah is rather true when they come with the reasons suggested by the Wisdom of Allah ~ in His Revelation, Divine Decree, Reward and Generosity. A Servant of Allah ~ should fulfil his obligations and then have a good opinion of his Lord, imploring the Lord to make them the cause of receiving His Recompense.
