3 Building the Sahabah
आरंभ में, अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ ने इस्लाम की ओर उन लोगों को आमंत्रित किया जिनमें उन्होंने उसे स्वीकार करने की तत्परता महसूस की, चाहे उनकी आयु, पद, नस्ल या मूल कुछ भी हो। पैगंबर ﷺ ने कभी लोगों का चयन नहीं किया, बल्कि सभी को बिना भेदभाव के आमंत्रित किया और फिर उनमें इस्लाम स्वीकार करने की तत्परता को भाँपा। अनगिनत लोग ईमान लाए और इस्लाम को अपनाया।
At the beginning of his call, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) invited to Islam people whom he felt had the readiness to accept it, regardless of their age, position, race, or origin. He (pbuh) never selected people, but rather invited people indiscriminately and then sensed their readiness to accept Islam. Scores of people believed and embraced Islam.
वह ﷺ इन नए मुसलमानों को शिक्षा देने और उनके दीन के ज्ञान को परिपूर्ण बनाने के साथ-साथ उन्हें कुरआन सिखाने के लिए बहुत उत्सुक रहते थे। उन्होंने सहाबा में से एक समूह बनाया और वे बारी-बारी से दावत का कार्य करते थे। उनकी संख्या चालीस से अधिक पुरुषों और महिलाओं तक पहुँच गई, जो जीवन के हर वर्ग से आए थे, हालाँकि उनमें अधिकतर युवा पुरुष थे। उनमें गरीब और अमीर, कमज़ोर और ताकतवर, सभी शामिल थे।
He (pbuh) was anxious to educate these new Muslims and perfect their knowledge of the Deen, as well as teach them the Qur’an. He (pbuh) formed a group from the companions and they carried the Da’wah in turn. Their number grew to over forty men and women, who came from all walks of life, though they were mostly young men. There were among them the poor and the rich, the weak and the strong.
इन मुसलमानों का वह समूह जो अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ पर ईमान लाया और दावत (दा'वा) के काम में लगा रहा, वह था:
This group of Muslims who believed in Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) and pursued the Da’wah were:
1. अली इब्न अबी तालिब (8 वर्ष की आयु में)।
1. ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (8 years old).
2. ज़ुबैर इब्न अल-अव्वाम (8 वर्ष)।
2. Zubayr ibn al-’Awwam (8 years old).
3. तलहा इब्न उबैदुल्लाह (11 वर्ष)।
3. Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydullah (11 years old).
4. अल-अरक़म बिन अबी अल-अरक़म (12 वर्ष)।
4. Al-Arqam ibn Abi al-Arqam (12 years old).
5. अब्दुल्लाह इब्न मसऊद (14 वर्ष)।
5. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (14 years old).
6. सईद इब्न ज़ैद (बीस वर्ष से कम आयु के)।

7. सा'द इब्न अबी वक़्क़ास (17 वर्ष की आयु)।
7. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (17 years old).
8. सऊद इब्न रबीआ (17 वर्ष)।

23. बिलाल इब्न रबाह (लगभग 30 वर्ष की आयु के)।

बहुत-सी महिलाओं ने भी इस्लाम धर्म स्वीकार किया।
A number of women also embraced Islam.
तीन वर्षों के बाद, जब ये सहाबा परिपक्व हो गए और उनके दिल और दिमाग इस्लामी संस्कृति पर आधारित इस्लामी अवधारणाओं के सिवा किसी और चीज़ से भरे हुए नहीं रहे, तब अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ को राहत और तसल्ली मिली। फिर उन्हें यह विश्वास हो गया कि उन्होंने इस्लाम की गहरी समझ हासिल कर ली है और अल्लाह (SWT) पर ईमान के मामले में उनके व्यक्तित्व ऊँचाइयों तक पहुँच चुके हैं। तभी उनकी चिंताएँ शांत हुईं, क्योंकि यह समूह मुसलमानों का ऐसा समूह बन गया था जो समाज का सामना करने के लिए पर्याप्त रूप से मज़बूत और सक्षम था। इसलिए जब अल्लाह (SWT) ने उन्हें आदेश दिया, तो वे ﷺ अपने समूह का नेतृत्व करते हुए निकले और क़ुरैश का सामना किया।
After three years, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was relieved and reassured when these Sahabah matured and when their hearts and minds became filled with nothing but Islamic concepts grounded in the Islamic culture. He (pbuh) then became certain that they had acquired a deep understanding of Islam and that their personalities had reached great heights in terms of belief in Allah (swt). Only then were his worries appeased, for this group of Muslims became strong and capable enough to face society, so he (pbuh) came out leading his group to confront Quraysh when Allah (swt) ordered him to do so.
