5.3 Indirect Revelation
اللہ تعالیٰ کی وحی کا ایک بہت بڑا حصہ فرشتۂ وحی جبرئیل علیہ السلام کے ذریعے انبیاء تک پہنچایا گیا۔ وحی کی آخری کتاب، قرآن مجید، کا زیادہ تر حصہ اسی طریقے سے نازل ہوا۔ وحی کی یہ صورت نبی کریم ﷺ تک دو طریقوں سے پہنچتی تھی: یا تو گھنٹی کی آواز جیسی گونجتی ہوئی آواز کی صورت میں، یا پھر فرشتے کے براہِ راست کلام کرنے کی صورت میں۔
The vast majority of Allaah’s revelation was conveyed to the prophets by way of the angel of revelation, Jibreel. The final book of revelation, the Qur’aan, was revealed in this way for the most part. This form of revelation reached the Prophet (ﷺ) in two ways: either in the form of the reverbrating sound like the gong of a bell, or in the form of the direct speech of the angel.
پہلے معاملے میں، فرشتہ روحانی حالت میں رہا اور نبی ﷺ
In the first case, the angel remained in a spiritual state and the Prophet (r)
وحی وصول کرنے کے لیے روحانی طور پر ایک موزوں مقام تک پہنچنا ضروری تھا۔ یہ طریقہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے لیے انتہائی مشقت والا تھا۔ اس دوران فرشتے کی آواز ایک بڑے گھنٹی کے زوردار بجنے کے مشابہ ہوتی تھی۔ ایک مرتبہ صحابی حارث بن ہشام رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ آپ ﷺ پر وحی کس طرح آتی ہے۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے جواب دیا،
was required to raise spiritually to a suitable state in which to receive the revelation. This method was extremely taxing on the Prophet (ﷺ). During it the voice of the angel resembled the loud ringing of a giant bell. The sahaabee alHaarith ibn Hishaam once asked the Prophet (ﷺ) to describe how the revelation came to him. The Prophet (ﷺ) replied,
"کبھی کبھی یہ میرے پاس گھنٹی کی آواز کی طرح آتا ہے—اور میرے لیے یہی سب سے سخت صورت ہوتی ہے—پھر گھنٹی کی آواز رک جاتی ہے اور میں سمجھ جاتا ہوں کہ (فرشتے نے) کیا کہا تھا۔" 20
“Sometimes it comes to me like the ringing of a bell—this is the most severe form for me—then the ringing ceases and I have understood what (the angel) said.” 20
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے اس کیفیت کی شدت کو اس طرح بیان فرمایا ہے: "میں نے انہیں دیکھا ہے کہ جب انتہائی سرد دن میں ان پر وحی نازل ہوتی تھی، تو جب وہ (وحی) رکتی تو ان کی پیشانی سے پسینہ ٹپک رہا ہوتا تھا۔"21
‘Aa’ishah described the intensity of this form as follows: “I have seen him when revelation (wahy) descended upon him on an extremely cold day, yet when it stopped his forehead would be dripping with sweat.”21
دوسرا طریقہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے لیے پہلے طریقے کے مقابلے میں برداشت کرنا بہت زیادہ آسان تھا۔
The second method was much easier for the Prophet (ﷺ) to bear than the first.
اس صورت میں، فرشتہ روحانی دنیا سے نکل کر نبی ﷺ کے سامنے ظاہر ہوگا۔
In this case, the angel would leave the spiritual world, appear to the Prophet (ﷺ)
انسانی شکل میں اور انسانی گفتگو کے ذریعے وحی پہنچاتے تھے۔ نبی ﷺ نے حارث بن ہشام کو اس صورت کی وضاحت یوں فرمائی:
in human form and pass on the revelation in the medium of human speech. The Prophet (ﷺ) described this form to al-Haarith ibn Hishaam as follows:
"کبھی کبھار فرشتہ میرے سامنے ایک مرد کی شکل میں ظاہر ہوتا ہے اور مجھ سے کلام کرتا ہے، اور میں اس کی کہی ہوئی ہر بات کو سمجھ لیتا ہوں۔" 22
“Occasionally the angel appears before me in the form of a man and speaks to me, and I grasp all that he says.” 22
