पैगंबर ﷺ में सृष्टि की पूर्णता और चरित्र की पूर्णता दोनों एक साथ थीं। लोगों पर उनके प्रभाव का अनुमान उस आनंद से लगाया जा सकता है जो उनके दिलों पर छा जाता था और उन्हें गरिमा से भर देता था। अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ के प्रति लोगों की प्रतिष्ठा, श्रद्धा और सम्मान अनोखे और अतुलनीय थे। पूरी दुनिया में किसी और इंसान को इतना सम्मान और इतना प्रेम नहीं मिला। जो लोग उन्हें भली-भाँति जानते थे, वे उनसे मोहित और मंत्रमुग्ध हो जाते थे। वे उनके शरीर के एक नाखून को भी चोट या हानि से बचाने के लिए अपनी जान कुर्बान करने को तैयार रहते थे। पूर्णता के ऐसे अनगिनत गुणों से विभूषित होने के कारण, जो किसी और को नहीं दिए गए थे, उनके साथियों ने उन्हें बेजोड़ पाया, और इसीलिए वे उनसे प्रेम करते थे।

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) combined both perfection of creation and perfection of manners. This impression on people can be deduced by the bliss that overwhelmed their hearts and filled them with dignity. Men’s dignity, devotion and estimation of the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him) were unique and matchless. No other man in the whole world has been so honoured and beloved. Those who knew him well, were fascinated and enchanted by him. They were ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of saving a nail of his from hurt or injury. Being privileged by lots of prerogatives of perfection that no one else had been endowed with, his Companions found that he was peerless and so they loved him.

Here we list a brief summary of the versions about his beauty and perfection. To encompass all which is, addmittedly, beyond our power.

उम्मे मअबद अल-ख़ुज़ाइया ने, जब अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ उनके तंबू के पास से हिजरत के सफ़र में गुज़रे, तो उनका वर्णन करते हुए अपने पति से कहा:

Describing the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him), who passed by her tent on his journey of migration, Umm Ma‘bad Al-Khuza‘iyah said to her husband:

"वह मासूम रूप से तेजस्वी थे और उनका चेहरा चौड़ा था। उनके आचरण उत्तम थे। न तो उनका पेट निकला हुआ था और न ही उनके सिर से बाल गायब थे। उनकी काली, आकर्षक आँखें थीं जिन पर लगातार भौंहें बड़े सुंदर ढंग से मेहराब बनाती थीं। उनके बाल चमकदार और काले थे, थोड़े घुंघराले होने की ओर झुके हुए, और वे उन्हें लंबा रखते थे। उनकी आवाज़ अत्यंत प्रभावशाली थी। उनका सिर बड़ा, सुगठित था और एक पतली गर्दन पर टिका हुआ था। उनकी मुखाकृति चिंतनशील और मननशील थी, शांत और उदात्त। अजनबी दूर से ही उनसे प्रभावित हो जाता था, परंतु जैसे ही वह उनके निकट आता, यह आकर्षण लगाव और सम्मान में बदल जाता। उनकी मुस्कान बहुत मीठी और स्पष्ट थी। उनकी वाणी सुगठित थी और उसमें अनावश्यक शब्दों का प्रयोग नहीं होता था, मानो वह मोतियों की माला हो। उनका कद न तो इतना ऊँचा था कि अटपटा लगे, और न इतना छोटा कि घृणित लगे। वह दोनों के बीच एक टहनी की तरह थे, अनोखे रूप से उजले और ताज़ा। वह सदैव अपने साथियों से घिरे रहते थे। जब भी वह कुछ कहते, श्रोता पूरी तन्मयता से सुनते, और जब भी वह कोई आदेश देते, वे उसे पूरा करने में एक-दूसरे से होड़ करते। वह एक स्वामी और सेनापति थे। उनकी बातें सच्चाई और ईमानदारी से भरी होती थीं, हर प्रकार के झूठ और असत्य से मुक्त।"

• “He was innocently bright and had broad countenance. His manners were fine. Neither was his belly bulging out nor was his head deprived of hair. He had black attractive eyes finely arched by continuous eyebrows. His hair glossy and black, inclined to curl, he wore long. His voice was extremely commanding. His head was large, well formed and set on a slender neck. His expression was pensive and contemplative, serene and sublime. The stranger was fascinated from the distance, but no sooner he became intimate with him than this fascination was changed into attachment and respect. His expression was very sweet and distinct. His speech was well set and free from the use of superfluous words, as if it were a rosary of beads. His stature was neither too high nor too small to look repulsive. He was a twig amongst the two, singularly bright and fresh. He was always surrounded by his Companions. Whenever he uttered something, the listeners would hear him with rapt attention and whenever he issued any command, they vied with each other in carrying it out. He was a master and a commander. His utterances were marked by truth and sincerity, free from all kinds of falsehoods and lies.”.

'अली बिन अबी तालिब उनका वर्णन करते हुए कहते हैं: "अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ न तो बहुत लंबे थे और न ही बहुत छोटे। वे अपने साथियों के बीच मध्यम कद के थे। उनके बाल न तो घुंघराले थे और न ही बिल्कुल सीधे। वे दोनों के बीच में थे। न तो वे बहुत घुंघराले थे और न ही पूरी तरह सपाट सीधे, बल्कि उनमें घुंघराला और लहरदार दोनों का मेल था। उनका चेहरा न फूला हुआ था और न ही भारी-भरकम गोल। वह काफ़ी गोल था। उनके दाँत सफ़ेद थे। उनकी आँखें काली और बड़ी थीं, और उनकी पलकें लंबे बालों वाली थीं। उनके जोड़ (अंग) और कंधों के जोड़ काफ़ी बड़े थे। उनके सीने से लेकर नाभि तक बालों की एक पतली लकीर-सी थी, जबकि बाक़ी शरीर लगभग बालों से रहित था। उनकी हथेलियाँ मोटी थीं, और उनकी उंगलियाँ और पैर की उंगलियाँ भी मोटी थीं। चलते समय वे अपने पैर इस तरह ज़मीन से उठाते थे जैसे किसी कीचड़ भरे पानी के बहाव में चल रहे हों। जब वे मुड़ते थे तो पूरे शरीर के साथ मुड़ते थे। नुबूवत की मोहर उनके दोनों कंधों के बीच थी। वे नबियों की मोहर हैं, सबसे उदार और सबसे बहादुर।"

नबी ﷺ अरबी भाषा में अत्यंत उत्कृष्ट वाक्पटुता और प्रवाहशीलता के लिए जाने जाते थे। आपका स्थान और पद अद्वितीय था। आप एक सटीक, सरल और बनावट से रहित स्पष्ट वक्ता थे। आप अरबी में पारंगत थे और हर कबीले की बोलियों और लहजों से भली-भाँति परिचित थे। आप अपने साथियों से उनके अपने लहजों और बोलियों में बात करते थे। आपने देहाती और शहरी दोनों प्रकार की बोली में महारत हासिल की थी और उनमें अत्यंत प्रवीण थे। इस प्रकार आपके पास देहाती भाषा की शक्ति और वाक्पटुता के साथ-साथ शहरी भाषा की स्पष्टता और अलंकृत, भव्य वाणी भी थी। और सबसे बढ़कर, अल्लाह की सहायता आपके साथ थी, जो क़ुरआन की उतरी हुई आयतों में मूर्त रूप में प्रकट थी।

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) was noted for superb eloquence and fluency in Arabic. He was remarkable in position and rank. He was an accurate, unpretending straightforward speaker. He was well-versed in Arabic and quite familiar with the dialects and accents of every tribe. He spoke with his entertainers using their own accents and dialects. He mastered and was quite eloquent at both bedouin and town speech. So he had the strength and eloquence of bedouin language as well as the clarity and the decorated splendid speech of town. Above all, there was the assistance of Allâh embodied in the revealed verses of the Qur’ân.

उसकी सहनशक्ति, धैर्य और क्षमा — सामर्थ्य की स्थिति में होते हुए भी — उसका सब्र और जिस चीज़ से वह घृणा करता था उसे सह लेना — ये सब वे गुण और विशेषताएँ थीं जो अल्लाह ने स्वयं उसमें रखी थीं। बुद्धिमान लोगों में भी कुछ कमियाँ होती हैं, परंतु अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ सबसे अलग थे — जितना अधिक उन्हें कष्ट या चोट पहुँचाई जाती, उतना ही अधिक वे नरम दिल और धैर्यवान बनते। कोई अज्ञानी जितनी अधिक उद्दंडता उनके विरुद्ध दिखाता, उतने ही अधिक वे दृढ़ और सहनशील हो जाते ﷺ।

His stamina, endurance and forgiveness — out of a commanding position — his patience and standing what he detested — these were all talents, attributes and qualities Allâh Himself had brought him on. Even wise men have their flaws, but the Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him), unlike everybody, the more he was hurt or injured, the more clement and patient he became. The more insolence an ignorant anybody exercised against him the more enduring he became.

'आयशा ने कहा:

‘Aishah said:

• "अल्लाह के रसूल ﷺ, जब भी उन्हें दो कामों में से एक चुनने का अवसर दिया जाता, तो वे हमेशा सबसे आसान और सुविधाजनक को चुनते। लेकिन यदि उन्हें निश्चित होता कि वह पापपूर्ण है, तो वे उससे यथासंभव दूर रहते। उन्होंने कभी अपने लिए बदला नहीं लिया; परंतु जब अल्लाह की पवित्रता का उल्लंघन होता, तो वे अवश्य बदला लेते। वह भी अल्लाह के लिए होता, अपने लिए नहीं। वे सबसे देर से क्रोधित होते और सबसे पहले प्रसन्न हो जाते। उनकी मेहमाननवाज़ी और उदारता बेजोड़ थी। उनके दान और उपहार उस व्यक्ति को दर्शाते थे जो गरीबी से नहीं डरता था।"

• “The Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him) , whenever he is given the opportunity to choose between two affairs, he always chooses the easiest and the most convenient. But if he is certain that it is sinful, he will be as far as he could from it. He has never avenged himself; but when the sanctity of Allâh is violated he would. That would be for Allâh’s not for himself. He is the last one to get angry and the first to be satisfied. His hospitality and generosity were matchless. His gifts and endowments manifest a man who does not fear poverty.”.
