ইবনু সা'দ বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, আয়িশাহ (রাঃ) বলেন, একজন লোক তাঁকে বলল, 'আবু বকর (রাঃ)-এর বর্ণনা দিন।' তিনি বললেন, 'তিনি ছিলেন ফর্সা বর্ণের, পাতলা গড়নের, কৃশ গালের ও ঈষৎ ঝুঁকে থাকা মানুষ। তাঁর লুঙ্গি কোমর থেকে সরে যেত এবং তিনি তা ধরে রাখতে পারতেন না। তাঁর মুখমণ্ডল ছিল কৃশ, চোখ ছিল গর্তে বসা, কপাল ছিল উঁচু, এবং হাতের পিঠের মাংস ছিল কম। এটাই তাঁর বর্ণনা।' তিনি আরও বর্ণনা করেছেন যে, আয়িশাহ (রাঃ) বলেন, আবু বকর (রাঃ) মেহেদি ও কাতাম (নীল) দিয়ে [তাঁর চুল ও দাড়ি] রঙ করতেন।

Ibn Sacd narrated that cA’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that a man said to her, ‘Describe Abu Bakr to us.’ She said, ‘A fair man, of slender build, thin cheeked and with a stoop; he could not keep his lower garment from slipping over his loins; gaunt-faced, eyes deep-set, with a prominent forehead, and the backs of his hands fleshless. This is his description.’ He narrated that cA’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that Abu Bakr used to dye [his hair and beard] with henna and indigo (katam).

তিনি বর্ণনা করেন যে আনাস বলেছেন: আল্লাহর রাসূল ﷺ মদীনায় গেলেন, তখন তাঁর সাহাবীদের মধ্যে আবু বাকর ছাড়া আর কারও চুল সাদা-কালো মেশানো ছিল না। তাই তিনি মেহেদি ও নীল দিয়ে তা রঙ করলেন {কাতাম}।

He narrated that Anas said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, went to Madinah and there was no-one among his companions having hair of mixed white and black except Abu Bakr, so he dyed it with henna and indigo {katam).
