पैगंबर मुहम्मद ﷺ ने अपने पूरे जीवन में अनुपम धैर्य और स्थिरता का परिचय दिया। एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जिन्होंने अपने पिता को कभी नहीं जाना, कम उम्र में अपनी माँ को खो दिया, फिर अपने दादा को खोया, और फिर एक साथ अपने चाचा और अपनी पत्नी को खो दिया। एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जिन्होंने अपने छह में से पाँच बच्चों की मृत्यु अपनी आँखों के सामने देखी, और जिन्हें दशकों तक अपने लोगों के बीच बेदाग़ प्रतिष्ठा बनाने के बाद एक ख़तरा और भगोड़े की तरह देखा गया। एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जिन्होंने शारीरिक यातना सही, यहाँ तक कि बेहोश हो जाने तक, वर्षों तक अपने ही लोगों द्वारा भूखा रखे गए, और चरित्र-हनन के अनगिनत अभियानों का सामना किया। एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जिन्हें उनके घर से निकाल दिया गया और शरण के लिए मदीना भागना पड़ा, और वहाँ भी उन्हें मुनाफ़िक़ों को अवसर की ताक में बैठे पाया जो उनके साथ विश्वासघात करने का मौक़ा ढूँढ रहे थे। एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जो नियमित रूप से अपनी जान पर हमलों की साज़िशें देखते रहे, अपने रिश्तेदारों और साथियों की हत्या और अंग-विच्छेद होते देखते रहे, और फिर अपने सबसे प्रिय जीवनसाथी ‘आइशा रज़ियल्लाहु अनहा पर, जो उनके सबसे वफ़ादार साथी की बेटी थीं, लांछन लगते देखते रहे। फिर भी, पैगंबर ﷺ आशा के साथ डटे रहे और अनुपम नैतिकता पर क़ायम रहे। पैगंबर ﷺ उस निराशा के गर्त से उठे और न केवल जीवित रहे, बल्कि इंसानों, जानवरों और पौधों, सभी के लिए दया और करुणा का स्रोत बन गए।

The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم showed exemplary endurance and consistency throughout his life. Consider a man who never knew his father, lost his mother at a young age, then lost his grandfather, and then his uncle and wife simultaneously. Consider a man who lived to witness five of his six children die, and who was treated like a menace and fugitive after decades of building a flawless reputation among his people. Consider a man who experienced physical abuse until he would faint, was starved for years by his own people, and faced countless campaigns of character assassination. Consider a man who was driven out of his home, sent fleeing to Madinah for shelter, only to find hypocrites there awaiting every opportunity to betray him. Consider a man watching assassination attempts against his life unfold regularly, as well as the murder and mutilation of his relatives and Companions, and then the slander of his cherished wife ‘Āishah , the daughter of his most loyal comrade. Somehow, he صلى الله عليه وسلم still persevered with hope and persisted in matchless ethics. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم rose from that abyss of negativity and not only survived but became a fountain of mercy and empathy for people, animals, and plants alike.
