এই জাগতিক সমৃদ্ধি কেয়ামতের আলামত হবে - এ প্রসঙ্গে নবী মুহাম্মাদ ﷺ বলেছেন, "আর যদি তুমি দেখো নগ্নপদ, বস্ত্রহীন উট-রাখালেরা উঁচু উঁচু অট্টালিকা নির্মাণে প্রতিযোগিতা করছে, তবে জেনে রাখো, এটি কেয়ামতের আলামতসমূহের একটি।"320 একশ' বছর আগেও যে উষর মরুভূমি-অঞ্চল উপসাগরীয় রাষ্ট্রগুলো ছিল দারিদ্র্যে জর্জরিত, আজ সেখানেই বিশ্বের তিনটি সর্বোচ্চ "স্কাইস্ক্র্যাপার" ভবনের দুটি গড়ে উঠেছে - এটি কি বিস্ময়কর নয়?

Regarding how material prosperity will be a sign of the endtimes, the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “And if you see the barefoot, naked shepherds of camels competing in the construction of high-rise buildings, then this is from among the signs of the Hour.”320 Is it not remarkable to witness the arid desert regions of the Gulf States, as impoverished as they were a century ago, develop two of the world’s three tallest “skyscraper” buildings today?

একটি অনুরূপ হাদীসে নবী ﷺ বলেছেন, “মানুষ মসজিদ নিয়ে গর্ব করার আগে কিয়ামত সংঘটিত হবে না।” বর্ণনাকারী ইবনু ‘আব্বাস বলেন, “তোমরাও তোমাদের মসজিদগুলোকে সাজাবে, যেমনটি ইহুদি ও খ্রিস্টানরা তাদের উপাসনালয়গুলোকে সাজিয়েছিল।”৩২১ এই তীব্র প্রতিযোগিতায় অন্যদের প্রতি অন্যায় আচরণ জড়িত থাকবে, আর এভাবে নবী ﷺ-এর হাদীসেও ভোগবিলাসিতা ও শোষণের অনুরূপ ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী আমরা পাই। আল-মিসওয়ার ইবনু মাখরামার হাদীসে তিনি ﷺ বলেছেন, “আল্লাহর কসম, আমি তোমাদের উপর দারিদ্র্য আসার ভয় করি না; বরং আমি ভয় করি যে, তোমাদের হাতে পূর্ববর্তী জাতিসমূহের মতো প্রচুর সম্পদ আসবে, আর তোমরা তাদের মতোই তা নিয়ে প্রতিযোগিতা করবে, অতঃপর তাদের মতোই তা তোমাদের ধ্বংস করে দেবে।”322

In a similar hadith, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The Hour will not commence before people boast of their mosques.” Ibn ‘Abbās , the narrator, added, “You will ornament your mosques just as the Jews and Christians did with their temples.”321 This intense competition will involve mistreatment of others, and thus we find parallel prophecies of hedonism and exploitation in the prophetic tradition as well. In the hadith of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah , he صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “By Allah, I do not fear poverty overtaking you, but I fear that you will have abundant wealth at your disposal like the nations before you, causing you to compete in it as they competed in it, and then it destroys you as it destroyed them.”322
