ابن عساکر نے روایت کی ہے کہ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: میں کسی ایسے شخص کو نہیں جانتا جس نے عمر بن الخطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کے سوا خفیہ طور پر ہجرت نہ کی ہو؛ کیونکہ جب انہوں نے ہجرت کرنے کا ارادہ کیا تو انہوں نے اپنی تلوار باندھی، اپنے کندھے پر کمان رکھی، اپنے ہاتھوں میں تیر لیے اور کعبہ کی طرف آئے جہاں قریش کے سردار صحن میں موجود تھے۔

Ibn cAsakir narrated that cAli said: I don’t know of anyone who didn’t emigrate in secret except for cUmar ibn al-Khattab; because when he wanted to emigrate he strapped on his sword, put his bow over his shoulder, carried his arrows in his hand, and came to the Kacbah where the nobles of Quraysh were in the courtyard.

انہوں نے سات چکر لگائے، اور پھر مقامِ ابراہیم پر دو رکعت نماز ادا کی۔ پھر وہ ایک ایک قدم کر کے ان کے حلقے کے قریب آئے اور کہا، "کتنے بدصورت چہرے ہیں! جو شخص اپنی ماں کو محروم کرنا چاہتا ہو، اپنے بچوں کو یتیم اور اپنی بیوی کو بیوہ کرنا چاہتا ہو، تو وہ اس وادی کے پیچھے مجھ سے ملے۔" ان میں سے کوئی بھی ان کے پیچھے نہیں گیا۔ انہوں نے روایت کیا کہ البراء رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہمارے پاس آنے والے مہاجرین میں سب سے پہلے مصعب بن عمیر آئے، پھر ابن ام مکتوم، پھر عمر بن الخطاب بیس دیگر افراد کے ساتھ سوار ہوئے۔ ہم نے پوچھا، 'رسول اللہ ﷺ نے کیا کیا ہے؟' انہوں نے کہا، 'وہ میرے بالکل پیچھے ہیں۔' پھر بعد میں، نبی ﷺ آئے اور ان کے ساتھ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے۔

He performed seven circuits, and then prayed two rakcfat at th< Station (of Ibrahim). Then he approached their circle one step al a time and said, “What ugly faces! Whoever wishes to bereave ha mother, orphan his children and widow his wife then let him meet me behind this valley.” Not one of them followed him. ] He narrated that al-Bara’, may Allah be pleased with him, said* The first of the Muhajirun who came to us was Muscab ibn cUmayr, then Ibn Umm Maktum, then cUmar ibn al-Khattab mounted among twenty others. We said, ‘What has the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, done?’ He said, ‘He is right behind me.’ Then later, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came and Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased witli him, along with him.

امام نوویؒ فرماتے ہیں: عمرؓ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تمام غزوات میں شرکت کی، اور وہ ان لوگوں میں سے تھے جنہوں نے غزوہ احد کے دن آپ ﷺ کے ساتھ ثابت قدمی سے ساتھ دیا تھا۔

An-Nawawi said: cUmar attended, along with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, all of the battles, and he was one of those who stood firm beside him on the Day of Uhud.
