সাহাবায়ে কিরাম (রা.) ছিলেন সেই দল, যারা ওহীর সবচেয়ে কাছাকাছি থাকার সুযোগ পেয়েছিলেন এবং তাদের কর্মে ওহীকে আঁকড়ে ধরার ব্যাপারে সবচেয়ে বেশি সচেতন ছিলেন। তাদের ইজমা' দুটি কারণে দলিল হিসেবে গণ্য: প্রথমত, আল্লাহ (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তা'আলা) নিম্নোক্ত আয়াতে তাদেরকে শুধু ব্যক্তি হিসেবে নয়, বরং একটি সম্প্রদায় হিসেবে প্রশংসা করেছেন।

The Sahabah (ra) were the group who had the best access to the revelation and were most mindful of holding fast to the revelation in their actions. Their Ijma‟ is a proof for the following two reasons: First, Allah (swt) in the following Ayah praises them as a community, not just as individuals.

“অগ্রগামী (ইসলামের) — যারা প্রথম দিকে হিজরত করেছিল এবং যারা তাদের আশ্রয় দিয়েছিল (মুহাজির ও আনসার), এবং যারা উত্তম কাজে তাদের অনুসরণ করেছে, আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট এবং তারাও আল্লাহর প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট। আর আল্লাহ তাদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছেন জান্নাত, যার নিচে নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে তারা চিরকাল থাকবে। এটাই মহাসাফল্য।” (তাফসীরুল কুরআন, সূরা আত-তাওবাহ: ১০০)

“The Vanguard (of Islam) - the first of those who forsook (their homes) and those who gave them aFid (the Muhajireen and the Ansar) and also those who follow them in good deeds, Allah is well pleased with them and they with Allah. And Allah has made ready with them gardens underneath which rivers flow and that will be their abode forever eternally, this their supreme triumph.” (TMQ At-Taubah: 100)
