In einem eindeutigen Hadith über die Regierungsformen, die die muslimische Gemeinschaft erleben wird, berichtete Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān, dass der Prophet ﷺ sagte: „Die Prophetie wird unter euch bleiben, solange Allah es will. Dann wird Allah sie entfernen, wann immer Er sie entfernen will, und es wird ein Kalifat nach der prophetischen Methode geben. Es wird so lange bestehen, wie Allah will, dass es besteht; dann wird Allah es entfernen, wann immer Er es entfernen will. Danach wird es eine beständige Dynastie geben, und sie wird so lange bleiben, wie Allah will, dass sie bleibt. Dann wird Allah sie entfernen, wann immer Er sie entfernen will. Danach wird es eine gewaltsame Herrschaft geben, und sie wird so lange bleiben, wie Allah will, dass sie bleibt. Dann wird Er sie entfernen, wann immer Er sie entfernen will, und danach wird es wieder ein Kalifat nach der prophetischen Methode geben.“304

In an explicit hadith about the forms of governance the Muslim nation would experience, Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān  reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Prophethood will remain amongst you for as long as Allah wishes. Then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it, and there will be a caliphate upon the prophetic methodology. It will last for as long as Allah wishes it to last, then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it. Then there will be an abiding dynasty, and it will remain for as long as Allah wishes it to remain. Then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it. Then there will be forceful monarchy, and it will remain for as long as Allah wishes it to remain. Then He will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it, and then there will be a caliphate upon the prophetic methodology.”304
