Alles Lob gebührt Allah. Da ich aus eigener Anschauung die Leidenschaft kannte, die Shaykh Mohammad Elshinawy für dieses Thema empfand, wusste ich, dass sich die intellektuelle Kraft dieses Buches mit der Hingabe des Autors verbinden würde, um ein Meisterwerk hervorzubringen.
All praise be to Allah. Noticing firsthand the passion Shaykh Mohammad Elshinawy had for the subject of this book, I knew its intellectual vigor would be mixed with the author’s passion to produce a masterpiece.
Es gibt kein Thema, das unsere Aufmerksamkeit und unseren Einsatz mehr verdient als die Beweise der Prophetie. In einer Zeit der Ungewissheit, des Zweifels und des Zynismus gibt es nichts Wichtigeres, als Menschen dabei zu helfen, Gewissheit über eine zentrale Wahrheit zu gewinnen: die Prophetie Muhammads ﷺ. Diese Gewissheit öffnet ihnen weit die Tore zu innerem Frieden und Glück, sowohl in diesem Leben als auch im Jenseits.
There is no subject I can think of that needs our attention and dedication more than the proofs of prophethood. In an age of uncertainty, skepticism, and cynicism, there is nothing more important than helping people build certainty in a most salient truth: the prophethood of Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him). It is that certainty that will open wide for them the gates to inner peace and happiness in this life and the one to come.
Das Buch behandelt eine breite Palette an Beweisen, von der historischen Notwendigkeit der Sendung des Propheten ﷺ bis hin zu dessen größtem Wunder, dem unnachahmlichen Qur'an, und vernachlässigt dabei weder seinen Charakter, seine Errungenschaften, seine Botschaft, seine Prophezeiungen noch seine physischen Wunder ﷺ. Es besitzt die nötige wissenschaftliche Integrität, ohne in emotionale Strenge zu verfallen. Es ist ausführlich, aber nicht überflüssig.
The book covers a wide array of proofs from the historical necessity of the Prophet’s dispatchment to the greatest of his miracles—the inimitable Qur’an—without neglecting his character, accomplishments, message, prophecies, and physical miracles. It has the necessary academic integrity without its emotional austerity. It is detailed, yet not superfluous.
Ob man dem evidentialistischen oder dem naturalistischen Zugang zum Glauben an Gott mehr Gewicht beimisst, die Beweise für die Prophetie sollten ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des islamischen Glaubens sein. Ein probabilistischer Ansatz, der sich induktiven Schließens bedient, schließt das Erlangen von Gewissheit auf diesem Weg nicht aus. Sind die Argumente stark und zahlreich, kann Gewissheit dennoch erreicht werden. Sie kann dann zusätzlich durch geistige Erfahrung und Erleuchtung untermauert werden.
Whether you place more importance on the evidentialist or naturalist approach to faith in God, the proofs of prophethood should be an integral part of faith in Islam. A probabilistic approach using inductive reasoning does not preclude the attainment of certainty through it. If the arguments are strong and plentiful, then certainty can still be achieved. It can then be further grounded by spiritual experience and enlightenment.
Neben der Bedeutung des Themas bereitet es mir auch große Freude, ein Vorwort zu diesem Buch zu schreiben, und zwar wegen seines Verfassers, von dem ich große Erwartungen habe. Ich hoffe, dass Allah ihn dazu gebrauchen wird, der Sache des Islam in diesem Land und auf der ganzen Welt zu dienen.
In addition to the importance of the subject, I also find great pleasure in writing a foreword for this book because of its author of whom I have great expectations, and I hope that Allah will use him in serving the cause of Islam in this land and around the globe.
Möge Gottes Segen und Friede auf dem sein, den Er als Barmherzigkeit für alle Geschöpfe gesandt hat, dem Siegel der Propheten und dem größten der Gesandten, Muhammad ﷺ.
