أ--- أجمع السلف الصالح على القول التالي: «الاستواء معلوم، والكيف مجهول، والإيمان به واجب، والسؤال عنه بدعة، وما يُعلم منه يأتي من الله، وعلى الرسول أن يبلّغ ما أُمر به، وما علينا إلا التسليم». ﴿آمنا به كل من عند ربنا﴾ (آل عمران، 7)، وهذا هو جوابهم المعتاد عند مواجهة الآيات والأحاديث المتعلقة بأسماء الله وصفاته.

A--- The earlier godly scholars unanimously agreed upon the following saying: "The [Istiwa’] Rising Over is known, the [Kaif] how lies beyond our mental capabilities, believing therein is a duty, inquiring about it is a heresy, our knowledge of it comes from Allah, the Messenger must convey what he was ordered to, and all we can do is to submit (our will to Allah)." {We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear verses) are from our Lord} (Al 'Imran, 7) is their usual response when encountering verses and Hadiths pertaining to Allah's Names and Attributes.

قال الله تعالى: {آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ} (آل عمران: ٥٢)

Allah says: {We believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah)}. (Al' Imran, 52)
