Un examen detenido de cualquiera de los bienes, ya existan de forma natural, como un hongo, o ya existan por el esfuerzo del hombre, como un pan o un automóvil, sugiere claramente que su adquisición requiere trabajo.

Close examination of any of the property assets, whether they exist naturally, like a mushroom or whether they exist by man’s effort, such as a loaf or a car, clearly suggests that their acquisition requires work.

El término ’Amal (trabajo) tiene un significado amplio que abarca numerosos tipos y formas, y produce diversos resultados; por ello, la Shar’a (legislación divina) no dejó la palabra ‘Amal en su forma absoluta sin definir. Tampoco definió el ‘Amal de manera general, sino que mencionó ciertas formas específicas de trabajo. Mostró los tipos de trabajo y aquellos que son aceptados como medios de propiedad. Al examinar las normas divinas que describen el trabajo, se desprende que los tipos de trabajo legal que constituyen un medio válido para poseer bienes son los siguientes:

The term ’Amal (work) has a wide meaning encompassing numerous types and forms and has various results, therefore the Shar’a (divine legislation) did not leave the word ‘Amal in its absolute form without definition. It also did not define ‘Amal in a general form but mentioned certain specific forms of work. It demonstrated the types of work and those that are accepted to be means of ownership. By examining the divine rules that describe work, it appears that the types of legal work, which are a valid means of possessing property, are the following:

1. Cultivo de tierras sin uso (muertas).

1. Cultivation of unused (dead) land.

2. Extraer lo que existe dentro de la tierra o en el aire.

2. Extracting that which exists inside the earth, or in the air.

3. La caza.

3. Hunting.

4. Corretaje (Samsara) y agencia de comisión (Dalala).

4. Brokerage (Samsara) and Commission Agency (Dalala).

5. Sociedad de trabajo y capital (Mudaraba).

5. Partnership of body and capital (Mudharaba).

6. Aparcería (Musaqat).

6. Sharecropping (Musaqat).

7. Trabajar para otros por un salario.

7. Working for others for a wage.
