আল্লাহ, সর্বোচ্চ, বলেন, {যে ব্যক্তি তার রবের সাথে সাক্ষাতের আশা রাখে, সে যেন সৎকর্ম করে এবং তার রবের ইবাদতে কাউকে শরীক না করে।} (আল-কাহফ: ১১০)
Allah, the Most High, says, {Whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteous, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.} (AL-Kahf:llO)
অর্থাৎ, সে সৎকর্মে লোক দেখানোর প্রবণতা থেকে মুক্ত থাকে। "তোমরা ছোট শিরক থেকে সতর্ক থাকো।" তাঁরা জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, "ছোট শিরক কী?" তিনি বললেন, "সৎকর্মে লোক দেখানো।"
i.e., does not show off in good works "Beware of the lesser shirk." They asked, "What is the lesser shirk?" He said, "Showing off in good works.
আল্লাহ, মহিমান্বিত, মানুষকে তাদের কর্মের প্রতিফল দেওয়ার সময় বলবেন: "যাদের কাছে তোমরা দুনিয়াতে লোক দেখানোর জন্য নিজেদের প্রদর্শন করতে, তাদের কাছে যাও এবং দেখো তারা তোমাদের কোনো প্রতিদান দিতে পারে কিনা।" 1
Allah, the Almighty will say when recompensing the mankind for their deeds: Go to those whom you showed off to in the world to see how they could recompense you. .” 1
নবী ﷺ বলেছেন, "যে ব্যক্তি আমার সাথে কোনো কিছুকে শরীক করে, আমি তার থেকে মুক্ত। যে ব্যক্তি আমার সাথে কাউকে কোনোভাবে শরীক করে, আমি তাকে ও তার শিরককে প্রত্যাখ্যান করি।"2
The Prophet (pbuh) said, "If anybody associates something with Me, I am not affected. If anyone associates somebody with Me, in any way, I reject him and his act of associating.”2
নবী ﷺ বলেছেন, "যে ব্যক্তি লোক দেখানোর উদ্দেশ্যে কোনো ভালো কাজ করে, মহান আল্লাহ তার দোষ-ত্রুটি প্রকাশ করে দেবেন, আর যে ব্যক্তির ভালো কাজের উদ্দেশ্য হলো তা প্রদর্শন করা, মহান আল্লাহ তার সঙ্গে মুনাফিকের মতো আচরণ করবেন।"3
The Prophet (pbuh) said, "A person who does some good work in order to boast will have his faults exposed by Allah Most High and a person whose motive in doing some good deed is to show it, Allah the Most High will treat him as a hypocrite.”3
নবী ﷺ বলেছেন, "এমন অনেক রোজাদার আছে যে তার রোজা থেকে শুধু ক্ষুধা ও তৃষ্ণা ছাড়া কিছুই লাভ করে না।" এক জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তি বলেছেন, "যে ব্যক্তি সৎকর্মে লোক দেখানো করে, সে ঠিক সেই ব্যক্তির মতো যে তার থলি পাথরকুচি দিয়ে ভরে বাজারে খাবার কিনতে যায়। সে যদি বিক্রেতার সামনে থলি খোলে, তবে সেই পাথরকুচি দিয়েই তার মুখে আঘাত করা হবে। সে শুধু মানুষের এই প্রশ্ন ছাড়া আর কিছুই লাভ করে না যে, তার থলিতে কী ভরা আছে, আর কিছু নয়। এভাবে যে ব্যক্তি সৎকর্মে লোক দেখানো করে, তার কোনো মূল্য থাকে না, কেবল মানুষের এই বলাটুকু ছাড়া যে সে ভালো কাজ করেছে, আর পরকালে সে কোনো প্রতিদান পাবে না।" মহান আল্লাহ বলেন, {আর তারা যেসব কাজ করেছে, আমি সেগুলোর দিকে অগ্রসর হব এবং সেগুলোকে বিক্ষিপ্ত ধূলিকণায় পরিণত করব।} (আল-ফুরকান: ২৩)
The Prophet (pbuh) said, "There may be a faster who does not gain from his fasting but hunger and thirst.” A wise man said, "Just as the one who shows off in good works is the one who fills his purse with pebbles and leaves for the market to buy food. If he opened it before the seller he will be stoned with it in his face. He gains nothing but the people's inquiry about what fills his purse, nothing more. Thus, the one who shows off in good works will have no value but the people's saying that he did good and he will not be rewarded in the Hereafter." Allah, the Almighty, says, {And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deed as floating dust scattered about.} (AI-Furqan:23)
রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ বলেছেন, "কিয়ামতের দিন কিছু মানুষকে জান্নাতের কাছে আনা হবে। তারা এর সুঘ্রাণ পাবে এবং সেখানকার প্রাসাদ ও নেয়ামতসমূহ দেখবে। তখন একটি ঘোষণা শোনা যাবে, 'এদের সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাও, এটা এদের জন্য নয়।' ফলে তারা এমন দুঃখ নিয়ে ফিরে যাবে যে, কেউ এমন অনুভূতি লাভ করেনি। তারা আল্লাহকে ডেকে বলবে, 'হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক, আপনার বন্ধুদের জন্য যা প্রস্তুত করেছেন তা দেখার আগেই যদি আমরা জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করতাম, তবে তা-ই উত্তম হতো।' তখন আল্লাহ বলবেন, 'এটাই আমি চেয়েছিলাম। তোমরা যখন একান্তে ছিলে তখন গুরুতর পাপ করে আমার অবাধ্যতা করেছ, কিন্তু মানুষের সামনে গেলে সৎকাজে লোক দেখানো করেছ। তুমি আমাকে নয়, মানুষকে সম্মান করেছ, তুমি শুধু তাদের জন্যই (কিছু কাজ থেকে) বিরত থেকেছ। অতএব আজ আমি তোমাদের কঠোর শাস্তি দেব এবং আমার মহা পুরস্কার থেকে বঞ্চিত করব।'" ৪
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, "On the Day of Judgment some groups of people will be brought near Paradise. Having smelt its fragrance, and seen palaces and blessings therein, they will hear a call saying "Take them away, it is not for them." Accordingly, they return so sorrowful that no one could have such feeling. They will call upon Allah, "0 Lord were we entered into the Hell-Fire before seeing what You have prepared for Your Friends, it would have been better." Then Allah will say, " That is what I want. When you were alone you defied Me with grievous sins, but when you meet people you showed off in good works, You only respected people not Me, You only refrain (from things) for their sake. Hence, today, I will severely torment you in addition to depriving you from My bountiful reward.” 4
একজন ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর রাসূল ﷺ-কে জিজ্ঞেস করেছিলেন।
It was related that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)
"আমি কীভাবে মুক্তি পেতে পারি?" নবী ﷺ বললেন, "যদি তুমি আল্লাহকে প্রতারণা না করো।" লোকটি জিজ্ঞেস করল, "আল্লাহকে কীভাবে প্রতারণা করা হয়?" তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, "যখন তুমি এমন কোনো কাজ করো যা আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসূল তোমাকে করতে আদেশ করেছেন, কিন্তু তুমি আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি ছাড়া অন্য কিছুর উদ্দেশ্য করো। সাবধান থেকো রিয়া (লোক দেখানো ইবাদত) থেকে, কারণ তা ছোট শির্ক। কিয়ামতের দিন সকল সৃষ্টির সামনে রিয়াকারীকে চারটি নামে ডাকা হবে: হে রিয়াকারী, হে বিশ্বাসঘাতক, হে পাপাচারী, হে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। তুমি যা করেছ তা বৃথা গেছে, তোমার প্রতিদান বাতিল হয়ে গেছে। আমরা তোমাকে কোনো প্রতিদান দেব না। যার জন্য তুমি প্রতারণামূলক আমল করেছিলে, তার কাছ থেকেই তোমার প্রতিদান নিতে যাও।"
"How can I be redeemed?" The Prophet said, "If you do not deceive Allah" The man asked, "How is Allah deceived?" He replied, "When you do something which Allah and His Messenger commanded you to do but you intended other than pleasing Allah. Beware of ostentation, it is the lesser shirk (polytheism); On the Day of Judgment, the ostentatious will be called at the presence of all creatures by four names: O Ostentatious, O traitors, O corrupt, O loser; what you did is wasted and your reward is nullified. We will not reward you, go and get your reward from whomever you acted to deceive?” 1
একজন জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তিকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হলো, "একনিষ্ঠ ব্যক্তি কে?" তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, "যে ব্যক্তি তার ভালো কাজগুলো লুকিয়ে রাখে, যেমন সে তার খারাপ কাজগুলো লুকিয়ে রাখে।" কেউ একজন জিজ্ঞেস করলো, "একনিষ্ঠতার উপকারিতা কী?" তিনি বললেন, "যখন তুমি মানুষের প্রশংসা পেতে অপছন্দ করো।" আল-ফুযাইল ইবনু ইয়াদ, আল্লাহ তাঁর প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হোন, বলেছেন, "মানুষের জন্য কোনো কাজ থেকে বিরত থাকা হলো লোক দেখানো। আর মানুষের জন্য কোনো কাজ করা হলো শিরক (অংশীস্থাপন)। কিন্তু একনিষ্ঠতা হলো তাদের প্রতি সচেতন থাকা।"
A wise man was asked, "Who is the sincere one?" He replied, "It is he who hides his good deeds as he does with his bad deeds." Someone asked, "What is the good of sincerity?" He said, "When you dislike to be praised by people." Al-Fudail Ibn Eiad, may Allah be pleased with him said, "To refrain from an action for the sake of people is ostentation. To do something for their sake is shirk (polytheism). But sincerity is to be aware of them.
হে আল্লাহ! আমাদের তাদের থেকে দূরে রাখুন এবং আমাদের ক্ষমা করুন।
O Allah! Let us be away from them and forgive us.
