यह स्पष्ट होना चाहिए कि तक़लीद का विषय केवल हुक्म (नियम/फ़ैसले) तक सीमित है और इसमें अक़ीदह (आस्था) शामिल नहीं है। अक़ीदह में तक़लीद करना हराम है, क्योंकि अल्लाह (सुब्हानahू व तआला) ने अक़ीदह में तक़लीद करने वालों की निंदा की है। अल्लाह (सुब्हानahू व तआला) ने इसका उल्लेख कई आयतों में किया है:

It should be clear that the subject of Taqleed is limited to the Hukm (rule) and does not include the „Aqeedah (Belief). It is forbidden to make Taqleed in the creed, i.e. „Aqeedah because Allah (swt) has censured the Muqallids (imitators) in „Aqeedah. Allah (swt) has mentioned this in many verses:

"और जब उनसे कहा जाता है कि उसका अनुसरण करो जो अल्लाह ने उतारा है, तो वे कहते हैं: नहीं, हम तो उसी का अनुसरण करेंगे जिस पर हमने अपने बाप-दादों को पाया है। भले ही उनके बाप-दादा न कुछ समझते हों और न ही मार्गदर्शन पर हों।" (तर्जुमा मौलाना मुहम्मद तक़ीउद्दीन हिलाली व मुहम्मद मुहसिन ख़ान, सूरा अल-बक़रह: 170)

“And if they said to them follow what Allah has revealed, they said but we follow what our fore fathers left for us. Even if their fathers understood not, and were not guided”. (TMQ Al-Baqarah: 170)

"क्या तुम्हारे पास कोई ज्ञान है जिसे तुम हमारे सामने प्रस्तुत कर सको? तुम केवल अनुमान (ज़न्न) का अनुसरण करते हो।" (क़ुरआन, सूरा अल-अनआम: 148)

"Do you have Ilm for that which you claim so that you provide us with? You follow nothing but conjecture (Zann)." (TMQ Al-An‟am:148)

"ये केवल कुछ नाम हैं जो तुमने और तुम्हारे बाप-दादाओं ने गढ़ लिए हैं, जिनके लिए अल्लाह ने कोई प्रमाण नहीं उतारा। वे केवल अटकल और अपने नफ़्स की इच्छाओं के पीछे चलते हैं, जबकि उनके रब की ओर से उनके पास मार्गदर्शन आ चुका है।" (कुरआन, सूरा अन-नज्म: 23)

“These are nothing but names which you have devised, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their Nafs desire. Even though there has already come to them the Guidance from their Lord” (TMQ An-Najm: 23)
