Allah, le Très-Haut, dit : {Dites : « Voyez donc ! Si votre source venait à disparaître demain matin (dans le sous-sol), qui donc pourrait vous apporter une eau claire et courante ? »} Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Ne retenez pas l'excès d'eau au point de priver le pâturage. »1

Allah, Most High says, {Say, 'See ye? If your stream was lost one morning (in the underground), who then can supply you with clear flowing water?} The Prophet (pbuh) said, "Do not withhold excess water to withhold pasturage.”1

« Quiconque refuse aux autres son surplus d'eau ou de pâturage, Allah lui refusera Ses bienfaits au Jour du Jugement. »2

"Whoever denies others his surplus water or pasturage, Allah shall deny him His blessings on the Day of Judgment.”2

« Il y a trois personnes à qui Allah ne parlera pas, ne jettera pas un regard et ne pardonnera pas au Jour de la Résurrection, et qui subiront un châtiment douloureux : celui qui retient l'eau excédentaire à un voyageur dans le désert, celui qui vend une marchandise après 'Asr en jurant par Allah qu'il l'a payée plus cher qu'il ne l'a réellement fait, et un homme qui prête allégeance à un gouverneur uniquement pour ce bas-monde, et qui n'est loyal que s'il obtient quelque chose de cette vie terrestre. »3

"There are three people whom Allah will not speak to, look at, or exonerate on the Day of Judgment, and who will have a painful torment: he who withholds excess water from a traveler in the desert, he who sells merchandise after 'Asr (late afternoon) swearing by Allah that he paid more for it than he actually did, and a man who gives the pledge to a governor only for the sake of this world, and is only loyal if he gets something of this worldly life.”3

Al-Bukhari ajoute au hadith ci-dessus ce qui suit : « Quiconque refuse aux autres son surplus d'eau, Allah lui dira : "Aujourd'hui, Je te refuserai Ma grâce comme tu l'as fait avec ce que tu ne pouvais pas créer." 4

Al-Bukhari adds to the above hadith the following, "Whoever denies others his surplus water, Allah will say to him, "Today J will deny you my bounty as you did with what you could not create.” 4
