اس بارے میں کہ مادی خوشحالی قیامت کی نشانیوں میں سے ایک ہوگی، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: "اور جب تم دیکھو کہ ننگے پاؤں اور برہنہ اوڑھنی والے اونٹ چرانے والے اونچی اونچی عمارتیں بنانے میں ایک دوسرے سے مقابلہ کر رہے ہیں، تو یہ قیامت کی نشانیوں میں سے ہے۔" 320 کیا یہ دیکھنا حیران کن نہیں ہے کہ خلیجی ریاستوں کے خشک صحرائی علاقے، جو ایک صدی قبل انتہائی غریب تھے، آج دنیا کی تین بلند ترین "ناطاقစား" عمارتوں میں سے دو کی تعمیر کر رہے ہیں؟

Regarding how material prosperity will be a sign of the endtimes, the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “And if you see the barefoot, naked shepherds of camels competing in the construction of high-rise buildings, then this is from among the signs of the Hour.”320 Is it not remarkable to witness the arid desert regions of the Gulf States, as impoverished as they were a century ago, develop two of the world’s three tallest “skyscraper” buildings today?

ایک ملتی جلتی حدیث میں، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا، "قیامت اس وقت تک شروع نہیں ہوگی جب تک لوگ اپنی مساجد پر فخر نہ کرنے لگیں۔" راوی ابن عباس ؓ نے اضافہ کیا، "تم اپنی مساجد کو اسی طرح آراستہ کرو گے جیسے یہودیوں اور عیسائیوں نے اپنے عبادت گاہوں کو کیا تھا۔" یہ شدید مقابلہ دوسروں کے ساتھ بدسلوکی کا باعث بنے گا، اور اسی طرح ہمیں نبوی روایت میں بھی عیش و عشرت اور استحصال کی ہم پلہ پیش گوئیاں ملتی ہیں۔ المسور بن مخرمہ ؓ کی حدیث میں، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا، "اللہ کی قسم، میں تمہیں غربت گھیر لینے سے نہیں ڈرتا، بلکہ میں اس بات سے ڈرتا ہوں کہ تمہارے پاس تمہاری پہلے والی قوموں کی طرح کثیر مال و دولت ہو جائے گی، جس کی وجہ سے تم اس میں اس طرح مقابلہ کرو گے جیسے انہوں نے کیا تھا، اور پھر وہ تمہیں اسی طرح ہلاک کر دے گا جیسے انہوں نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا تھا۔"322

In a similar hadith, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The Hour will not commence before people boast of their mosques.” Ibn ‘Abbās , the narrator, added, “You will ornament your mosques just as the Jews and Christians did with their temples.”321 This intense competition will involve mistreatment of others, and thus we find parallel prophecies of hedonism and exploitation in the prophetic tradition as well. In the hadith of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah , he صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “By Allah, I do not fear poverty overtaking you, but I fear that you will have abundant wealth at your disposal like the nations before you, causing you to compete in it as they competed in it, and then it destroys you as it destroyed them.”322
