تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں۔ اس کتاب کے موضوع کے بارے میں شیخ محمد الشناوی ﷺ کے شوق و جذبے کو خود اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھ کر، میں جانتا تھا کہ اس کی فکری قوت مصنف کے اس جذبے کے ساتھ مل کر ایک شاہکار تخلیق کرے گی۔

All praise be to Allah. Noticing firsthand the passion Shaykh Mohammad Elshinawy had for the subject of this book, I knew its intellectual vigor would be mixed with the author’s passion to produce a masterpiece.

ایسا کوئی موضوع میرے ذہن میں نہیں آتا جس پر توجہ اور لگن کی ضرورت نبوت کے دلائل سے زیادہ ہو۔ بے یقینی، شک و شبہ اور مایوسی کے اس دور میں، لوگوں کو ایک نہایت اہم حقیقت پر یقین پیدا کرنے میں مدد دینے سے زیادہ اہم کچھ بھی نہیں ہے: اور وہ ہے محمد ﷺ کی نبوت۔ یہی وہ یقین ہے جو ان کے لیے اس دنیا اور آنے والی دنیا میں اندرونی سکون اور خوشی کے دروازے کھول دے گا۔

There is no subject I can think of that needs our attention and dedication more than the proofs of prophethood. In an age of uncertainty, skepticism, and cynicism, there is nothing more important than helping people build certainty in a most salient truth: the prophethood of Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him). It is that certainty that will open wide for them the gates to inner peace and happiness in this life and the one to come.

یہ کتاب نبی ﷺ کی بعثت کی تاریخی ضرورت سے لے کر آپ ﷺ کے سب سے بڑے معجزے یعنی قرآنِ کریم کی بے مثال حیثیت تک، دلائل کی ایک وسیع اقسام کا احاطہ کرتی ہے، اور اس دوران آپ ﷺ کے کردار، کارناموں، پیغام، پیشگوئیوں اور جسمانی معجزات کو بھی نظر انداز نہیں کیا گیا۔ اس میں جذباتی شدت کے بغیر ضروری علمی دیانت داری موجود ہے۔ یہ مفصل ہے مگر فضول نہیں ہے۔

The book covers a wide array of proofs from the historical necessity of the Prophet’s dispatchment to the greatest of his miracles—the inimitable Qur’an—without neglecting his character, accomplishments, message, prophecies, and physical miracles. It has the necessary academic integrity without its emotional austerity. It is detailed, yet not superfluous.

چاہے آپ خدا پر ایمان کے حوالے سے ثبوتی (evidentialist) نقطہ نظر کو زیادہ اہمیت دیں یا فطرت پسندانہ (naturalist) نقطہ نظر کو، نبوت کے دلائل اسلام میں ایمان کا ایک لازمی حصہ ہونے چاہئیں۔ استقرائی استدلال (inductive reasoning) کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے ایک احتمالی نقطہ نظر اس کے ذریعے یقین حاصل کرنے کی راہ میں رکاوٹ نہیں بنتا۔ اگر دلائل مضبوط اور کثیر ہوں، تو یقین حاصل کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس کے بعد اسے روحانی تجربے اور معرفت کے ذریعے مزید مستحکم کیا جا سکتا ہے۔

Whether you place more importance on the evidentialist or naturalist approach to faith in God, the proofs of prophethood should be an integral part of faith in Islam. A probabilistic approach using inductive reasoning does not preclude the attainment of certainty through it. If the arguments are strong and plentiful, then certainty can still be achieved. It can then be further grounded by spiritual experience and enlightenment.

اس موضوع کی اہمیت کے ساتھ ساتھ، مجھے اس کتاب کا مقدمہ لکھنے میں بہت خوشی بھی محسوس ہو رہی ہے کیونکہ اس کے مصنف سے مجھے بہت زیادہ توقعات ہیں، اور میں امید کرتا ہوں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ انہیں اس سرزمین اور پوری دنیا میں اسلام کی خدمت کے لیے استعمال فرمائے گا۔

In addition to the importance of the subject, I also find great pleasure in writing a foreword for this book because of its author of whom I have great expectations, and I hope that Allah will use him in serving the cause of Islam in this land and around the globe.

خدا کی رحمتیں اور سلامتی ہو اس پر جسے اس نے تمام مخلوقات کے لیے رحمت بنا کر بھیجا، جو انبیاء کی مہر اور رسولوں میں سب سے عظیم ہیں، محمد ﷺ۔

May God’s blessings and peace be on the one He sent as a mercy for all creatures, the seal of prophets and greatest of messengers, Muhammad.
