ハフザイファ・イブン・アル＝ヤマーンは、預言者ﷺが次のように言われたと伝えています。預言者ﷺは、ムスリムの共同体が経験する統治の形態について明示的に述べられた一つのハディースにおいてです。「預言者性はアッラーがお望みになる限り、あなたがたの間に残る。その後、アッラーがお望みになった時に、アッラーはそれを取り去られる。そして預言者の方法に則ったカリフ制があり、アッラーがお望みになる限り続く。その後、アッラーがお望みになった時に、アッラーはそれを取り去られる。次に、永続する王朝があり、アッラーがお望みになる限り残る。その後、アッラーがお望みになった時に、アッラーはそれを取り去られる。次に、強権的な君主制があり、アッラーがお望みになる限り残る。その後、アッラーがお望みになった時に、アッラーはそれを取り去られ、その後、預言者の方法に則ったカリフ制があるであろう。」304

In an explicit hadith about the forms of governance the Muslim nation would experience, Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān  reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Prophethood will remain amongst you for as long as Allah wishes. Then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it, and there will be a caliphate upon the prophetic methodology. It will last for as long as Allah wishes it to last, then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it. Then there will be an abiding dynasty, and it will remain for as long as Allah wishes it to remain. Then Allah will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it. Then there will be forceful monarchy, and it will remain for as long as Allah wishes it to remain. Then He will remove it whenever He wishes to remove it, and then there will be a caliphate upon the prophetic methodology.”304
