A--- इसके विपरीत है अल्लाह के अलावा किसी और की इबादत करना। इसका अर्थ है अल्लाह के अलावा किसी और में दैवीय गुण मानना। विशेष रूप से इसका अर्थ है इबादत में अल्लाह के साथ साझीदार ठहराना, या यह मानना कि शक्ति, हानि या बरकत का स्रोत अल्लाह के अलावा किसी और से है। सर्वशक्तिमान अल्लाह फ़रमाता है: {अल्लाह मनुष्यों के लिए जो भी दया (यानी भलाई) प्रदान करे, उसे कोई रोक नहीं सकता; और जिसे वह रोक ले, उसके बाद उसे कोई प्रदान नहीं कर सकता। और वही सर्वशक्तिमान, परम तत्वदर्शी है। ऐ लोगो! अपने ऊपर अल्लाह के अनुग्रह को याद करो! क्या अल्लाह के सिवा कोई और सृष्टिकर्ता है जो आकाश (से वर्षा) और धरती से तुम्हें रोज़ी देता हो? उसके सिवा कोई पूज्य नहीं है। फिर तुम कहाँ से धोखा खा रहे हो?} (फ़ातिर, 2, 3)

A--- The opposite is to worship others besides Allah. This implies attributing divine qualities to anyone else. It particularly implies associating partners in worship with Allah or believing that the source of power, harm or blessing is from others besides Allah. Almighty Allah says: {Whatever of mercy (i.e. of good), Allah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it; and whatever He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And He is the All-Mighty, the AllWise. 0 Mankind! Remember the Grace of Allah upon you! Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the sky (rain) and the earth? La ilaha ilIa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turning away (from Him)?}. (Fatir, 2, 3)
