Todos os seres humanos são dotados, embora em graus diferentes, de instintos e necessidades orgânicas, que os impelem a realizar determinadas ações. Por exemplo, entre os instintos, o instinto de santificação leva as pessoas a reverenciar e a adorar, o instinto de sobrevivência leva-as a procurar aumentar a sua riqueza e a garantir a sua vida, e o instinto procriador as incita a manter relações sexuais com outros. Da mesma forma, entre as necessidades orgânicas, estão a necessidade de comer, beber, respirar etc.

Human beings are all endowed, albeit to different extents, with instincts and organic needs, which drive them to perform certain actions. For example, of the instincts, the sanctification instinct causes people to revere and worship, the survival instinct causes them to seek to increase their wealth and secure their lives, and the procreational instinct urges them to have sexual relationships with others. Similarly, among the organic needs, are the need to eat, drink, breathe etc.

Todos os instintos e necessidades orgânicas devem ser satisfeitos. Se os instintos não forem satisfeitos, isso levará à miséria. Se as necessidades orgânicas não forem atendidas, isso levará à morte. No entanto, se os seres humanos forem deixados à sua própria sorte, eles usam as suas próprias mentes para dirigir as suas ações e, assim, podem satisfazer os seus instintos e necessidades orgânicas exatamente como desejam. Mas as suas mentes são limitadas em capacidade, propensas ao erro e sujeitas ao egoísmo e ao preconceito. Sem orientação, a satisfação dos instintos e das necessidades orgânicas pode ser realizada de uma forma prejudicial aos outros. Por exemplo, o instinto de sobrevivência pode levar os indivíduos a enganar e roubar outros a fim de obter mais riqueza. O instinto de procriação pode levar as pessoas a cometer adultério ou fornicação. Estes são apenas alguns exemplos, mas as possibilidades de problemas são quase ilimitadas.

All of the instincts and organic needs must be fulfilled. If the instincts are not satisfied it will lead to misery. If the organic needs are not fulfilled, it will lead to death. However, if human beings are left to their own devices, they use their own minds to direct their actions and can thus fulfil their instincts and organic needs exactly as they please. But their minds are limited in ability, prone to error and subject to selfishness and prejudice. Without guidance, the satisfaction of the instincts and organic needs may be carried out in a way that is harmful to others. For instance, the survival instinct may drive individuals to cheat and steal from others in order to gain more wealth. The procreation instinct may lead people into committing adultery or fornication. These are just a couple of examples, but the scope for problems is almost limitless.

Tal estado de coisas é uma receita para o desastre e para a corrupção completa na terra. A menos que os instintos das pessoas sejam regulados por algum tipo de diretrizes, a sociedade continuará a ser assolada por males semelhantes aos que vemos ao nosso redor hoje, como o abuso ritual de crianças como forma de culto; o crime e a exploração como meio de aumentar a riqueza; ou a homossexualidade ou o estupro como meio de satisfazer o impulso sexual, etc.

Such a state of affairs is a recipe for disaster and complete corruption on the earth. Unless the instincts of people are regulated by some kind of guidelines, the society will continue to be plagued by evils of the like we see around us today, such as ritual child abuse as a type of worship; crime and exploitation as a mean of increasing wealth; or homosexuality or rape as a means of fulfilling the sexual urge etc.

Sem a orientação do Criador, a humanidade não tem outra opção senão cair nesta situação. Assim, fica claro que há necessidade dessa orientação, que venha como uma saída para todas as pessoas, e, portanto, há necessidade de mensageiros, que transmitam essa orientação da parte do Criador à humanidade.

Without guidance from the Creator, mankind has no option but to fall into this predicament. Clearly then, there is a need for such guidance, to come as a way out for all the people, and thereby a need for messengers, to convey this guidance to mankind from the creator.

Na verdade, mensageiros foram enviados à humanidade desde o início da história humana, trazendo esta orientação e exortando as pessoas a reconhecer a natureza de sua existência e a compreender a realidade e o propósito de suas vidas. Allah (SWT) diz:

Indeed, messengers have been sent to mankind since the beginning of human history, carrying this guidance and imploring people to recognise the nature of their existence and to understand the reality and purpose of their lives. Allah (swt) says,.

“E, de fato, enviamos a cada nação um Mensageiro (proclamando): ‘Adorai somente Allah e evitai o mal.’” [TMQ 16:36].

“And verily We have sent among every nation a Messenger (proclaiming) ‘Worship Allah alone, and avoid evil.’” [TMQ 16:36].

O último desses mensageiros foi o Profeta Muhammad ﷺ, e com a sua orientação veio o esclarecimento não apenas da verdade desta existência, mas também do código de conduta para que a humanidade alcance a justiça e a prosperidade tanto nesta vida quanto na próxima.

The last of these messengers was Prophet Muhammad (saw) and with his guidance, came the clarification of not only the truth of this existence, but also the code of conduct for humanity to achieve justice and prosperity in both this life and the next.
