There are three main objectives of the Social System in Islam. These are :

Para definir os papéis dos homens e das mulheres.

To define the roles of men and women.

Para organizar a relação entre homens e mulheres e resolver os problemas que surgem dessa relação.

To organise the relationship between men and women and to solve the problems that arise from this relationship.

Para regular a estrutura familiar.

To regulate the family structure.

Todas as regras e leis às quais os seres humanos estão sujeitos para cumprir esses objetivos são definidas pela Shari‘ah. Alguns papéis são exclusivos dos homens e das mulheres, e alguns se aplicam a ambos.

All the rules and laws which human beings are subject to in order to fulfil these objectives are defined by the Shari‘ah. Some roles are unique to men and women and some apply to both.

Um homem pode assumir diferentes papéis em relação às pessoas ao seu redor. O Islã define diferentes direitos e deveres para o homem dependendo da capacidade em que ele está atuando. Alguns dos papéis que ele pode ter são:

A man can take different roles with regard to his relationship with those around him. Islam defines different rights and duties for the man depending on which capacity he is acting in. Some of the roles he could have are as :

Avô.

Grandfather.

Tio materno / Tio paterno

Maternal/ Paternal Uncle.

Pai.

Father.

Irmão.

Brother.

Filho.

Son.

Marido

Husband.

Sobrinho materno / Sobrinho paterno.

Maternal / Paternal Nephew.

Alguns exemplos dos diferentes direitos e deveres que incumbem ao homem, conforme a sua condição, são:

Some examples of the different rights and duties incumbent upon the man depending on his capacity are :

O pai deve prover alimento, abrigo e vestuário para os seus filhos até que estejam crescidos e sejam capazes de se sustentar; depois disso, o seu sustento passa a ser uma caridade.

The father must provide food, shelter and clothing for his children, until such a time that they are mature, and able to support themselves, after which his support becomes a charity.

‘A’isha (ra) narrou que Hind bint Utbah foi até o Mensageiro de Allah ﷺ e disse: “Ó Rasul Allah, Abu Sufyan é um homem avarento e eu não tenho nada dele, exceto o que tomo para mim mesma.” O Profeta ﷺ disse: “Tome o que for suficiente para você e para o seu filho, com justiça.” Kitab al Umm, Imam Shafi‘i.

‘A’isha (ra) narrated that Hind bint Utbah came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and she said, “Oh Rasul Allah, Abu Sufyan is a miserly man and I have nothing from him except what I take for myself.” The Prophet (saw) said, “Take what is sufficient for you and your child with justice.” Kitab al Umm, Imam Shafi‘i.

A mulher também pode desempenhar papéis diferentes. Seus deveres variam conforme a capacidade em que atua.

The woman too can take different roles. Her duties vary depending on which capacity she acts in.

Abu Hurayrah relatou que um homem foi até o Profeta ﷺ e perguntou: "Ó Rasul Allah, quem de todas as pessoas tem mais direito ao meu bom tratamento e à minha boa companhia?" Ele respondeu: "A sua mãe." O homem perguntou: "E depois?" Ele respondeu: "A sua mãe." "E depois dela?" Ele respondeu: "A sua mãe." "E depois dela?" Ele respondeu: "O seu pai." Al-Bukhari e Muslim.

Abu Hurayrah related that a man came to the Prophet (saw) and asked, “O Rasul Allah, which of all the people is best entitled to kind treatment and good companionship from me? He answered, ‘your mother.’ The man asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’ ‘And after her?’ He replied, ‘Your mother.’ ‘And after her?’ He replied, ‘Your father.’ .” Bukhari and Muslim.
