[البوشنجی:] احمد بن حنبل ﷺ کی نمازِ جنازہ کے دوران، کچھ ماتم کرنے والوں نے علانیہ الکرابیسی پر لعنت بھیجی۔ یہ خبر المتوکل تک پہنچائی گئی، جنہوں نے پوچھا کہ وہ کون ہے۔ جب انہیں بتایا گیا کہ الکرابیسی نے ایک ایسا عقیدہ ایجاد کیا ہے جو پہلے نامعلوم تھا، تو انہوں نے حکم دیا کہ اسے اس کی موت تک اس کے گھر میں نظر بند رکھا جائے۔ 84.1

[Al-Būshanjī:] During the funeral prayers for Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal, some of the mourners cursed al-Karābīsī openly. The cursing was reported to al-Mutawakkil, who asked who he was. Told that al-Karābīsī had invented a doctrine previously unknown, he ordered him confined to his house until he died. 84.1

[النسائی:] میں نے احمد بن حنبل کی جنازے میں شرکت کی۔ وہاں بہت ہجوم تھا۔ کرابیسی پر اونچی آواز میں اور طویل عرصے تک لعنت بھیجی گئی، اور اسی طرح المریسی پر بھی۔ 84۔2

[Al-Nasawī:] I attended Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal’s funeral. It was very crowded. Al- Karābīsī was cursed loud and long, as was al-Marīsī. 84.2

[الوراق:] احمد بن حنبل کے جنازے پر، ماتم کرنے والوں نے سنت کی پیروی کا کھلم کھلا مظاہرہ کیا اور ناپسندیدہ بدعت پھیلانے والوں پر لعنت بھیجی۔ گمراہ رہنماؤں، مخالفین اور ناپسندیدہ بدعتیوں کے خاتمے کے ساتھ ساتھ اسلام کی برتری اور طاقت دکھا کر، خدا نے مسلمانوں کو اس مصیبت پر تسلی دی جس کا انہوں نے سامنا کیا تھا۔ کچھ ماتم کرنے والے قبرستان میں ڈیرے ڈال کر رہ گئے، اور عورتوں نے بھی زیارت کرنا شروع کر دیا۔ چنانچہ حکام نے علاقے کو خالی کرنے اور نظم و ضبط بحال کرنے کے لیے گشت کرنے والے اہلکار بھیجے۔ 84.3

[Al-Warrāq:] At Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal’s funeral, the mourners made an open display of adherence to the sunnah and cursed the purveyors of reprehensible innovation. By showing them the ascendancy and might of Islam as well as the suppression of errant guides, dissenters, and reprehensible innovators, God consoled the Muslims for the calamity they had suffered. Some mourners camped out at the gravesite, and women began to visit as well. The authorities accordingly sent patrolmen to clear the area and restore order. 84.3

[علی بن مہرُویہ کی پھوپھی:] جس دن ابن حنبل وفات پا گئے، بغداد میں وہ واحد جگہ جہاں عصر کی نماز ادا کی گئی، حارث کی مسجد تھی۔ 84.4

[ʿAlī ibn Mahruwayh’s aunt:] On the day Ibn Ḥanbal died, the only place in Baghdad where the afternoon prayer was performed was Ḥārith’s mosque. 84.4
