تمام انسان مختلف درجات میں جبلتوں اور جسمانی ضروریات سے مالا مال ہیں، جو انہیں بعض مخصوص اعمال کرنے پر مائل کرتی ہیں۔ مثال کے طور پر، جبلتوں میں سے، تقدیس کی جبلت لوگوں کو تعظیم اور عبادت کی طرف مائل کرتی ہے، بقا کی جبلت انہیں اپنی دولت بڑھانے اور اپنی زندگیوں کو محفوظ بنانے کی جستجو میں لگاتی ہے، اور نسل کشی (تولیدی) کی جبلت انہیں دوسروں کے ساتھ جنسی تعلقات قائم کرنے کی ترغیب دیتی ہے۔ اسی طرح، جسمانی ضروریات میں کھانے، پینے، سانس لینے وغیرہ کی ضرورت شامل ہے۔

Human beings are all endowed, albeit to different extents, with instincts and organic needs, which drive them to perform certain actions. For example, of the instincts, the sanctification instinct causes people to revere and worship, the survival instinct causes them to seek to increase their wealth and secure their lives, and the procreational instinct urges them to have sexual relationships with others. Similarly, among the organic needs, are the need to eat, drink, breathe etc.

تمام جبلّی خواہشات اور جسمانی ضروریات کو پورا کرنا ضروری ہے۔ اگر جبلّی خواہشات کو تسکین نہ دی گئی تو یہ بدبختی کا باعث بنیں گی۔ اگر جسمانی ضروریات پوری نہ ہوئیں تو یہ موت کا سبب بنیں گی۔ تاہم، اگر انسانوں کو ان کے اپنے حال پر چھوڑ دیا جائے، تو وہ اپنے اعمال کی سمت متعین کرنے کے لیے اپنے ذہن کا استعمال کرتے ہیں اور اس طرح اپنی جبلّی خواہشات اور جسمانی ضروریات کو بالکل اپنی مرضی کے مطابق پورا کر سکتے ہیں۔ لیکن ان کے ذہنوں کی صلاحیتیں محدود ہیں، وہ غلطی کے مرتکب ہو سکتے ہیں اور خود غرضی و تعصب کا شکار ہو سکتے ہیں۔ ہدایت کے بغیر، جبلّی خواہشات اور جسمانی ضروریات کی تسکین اس طرح کی جا سکتی ہے جو دوسروں کے لیے نقصان دہ ہو۔ مثال کے طور پر، بقا کی جبلّی خواہش افراد کو زیادہ دولت حاصل کرنے کے لیے دوسروں سے دھوکہ دہی اور چوری کرنے پر اکسائی جا سکتی ہے۔ نسل بڑھانے کی جبلّی خواہش لوگوں کو زنا یا بدکاری کی طرف لے جا سکتی ہے۔ یہ محض چند مثالیں ہیں، لیکن مسائل کا دائرہ کار تقریباً لامحدود ہے۔

All of the instincts and organic needs must be fulfilled. If the instincts are not satisfied it will lead to misery. If the organic needs are not fulfilled, it will lead to death. However, if human beings are left to their own devices, they use their own minds to direct their actions and can thus fulfil their instincts and organic needs exactly as they please. But their minds are limited in ability, prone to error and subject to selfishness and prejudice. Without guidance, the satisfaction of the instincts and organic needs may be carried out in a way that is harmful to others. For instance, the survival instinct may drive individuals to cheat and steal from others in order to gain more wealth. The procreation instinct may lead people into committing adultery or fornication. These are just a couple of examples, but the scope for problems is almost limitless.

ایسی صورتحال زمین پر تباہی اور مکمل فساد کا نسخہ ہے۔ جب تک لوگوں کی جبلتوں کو کسی قسم کی ہدایات کے ذریعے منظم نہیں کیا جاتا، معاشرہ ان برائیوں میں گھرا رہے گا جو ہم آج اپنے اردگرد دیکھتے ہیں، جیسے کہ عبادت کی ایک قسم کے طور پر بچوں کا منظم استحصال؛ دولت بڑھانے کے ذریعے کے طور پر جرم اور استحصال؛ یا جنسی خواہش پوری کرنے کے ذریعے کے طور پر ہم جنس پرستی یا زیادتی وغیرہ۔

Such a state of affairs is a recipe for disaster and complete corruption on the earth. Unless the instincts of people are regulated by some kind of guidelines, the society will continue to be plagued by evils of the like we see around us today, such as ritual child abuse as a type of worship; crime and exploitation as a mean of increasing wealth; or homosexuality or rape as a means of fulfilling the sexual urge etc.

خالق کی طرف سے ہدایت کے بغیر، بنی نوع انسان کے پاس اس مشکل صورتحال میں پھنسنے کے سوا کوئی چارہ نہیں۔ چنانچہ یہ بالکل واضح ہے کہ ایسی ہدایت کی ضرورت ہے جو تمام لوگوں کے لیے ایک مخرج (باہر نکلنے کا راستہ) بن کر آئے، اور اس طرح انسان تک خالق کی طرف سے یہ ہدایت پہنچانے کے لیے رسولوں کی ضرورت ہے۔

Without guidance from the Creator, mankind has no option but to fall into this predicament. Clearly then, there is a need for such guidance, to come as a way out for all the people, and thereby a need for messengers, to convey this guidance to mankind from the creator.

بیشک، انسانی تاریخ کے آغاز سے ہی نوع انسانی کی طرف رسول بھیجے گئے ہیں، جو اس ہدایت کو لے کر آئے اور لوگوں کو ان کے وجود کی حقیقت پہچاننے اور ان کی زندگی کی حقیقت اور مقصد کو سمجھنے کی تلقین کی۔ اللہ سبحانہ و تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے،

Indeed, messengers have been sent to mankind since the beginning of human history, carrying this guidance and imploring people to recognise the nature of their existence and to understand the reality and purpose of their lives. Allah (swt) says,.

”اور بیشک ہم نے ہر امت میں ایک رسول (بھیجا) کہ ’اللہ ہی کی عبادت کرو اور شر سے بچو‘۔“ [TMQ 16:36]

“And verily We have sent among every nation a Messenger (proclaiming) ‘Worship Allah alone, and avoid evil.’” [TMQ 16:36].

ان رسولوں میں سے آخری نبی حضرت محمد ﷺ تھے اور آپ ﷺ کی ہدایت کے ساتھ نہ صرف اس وجود کی حقیقت بلکہ انسانیت کے لیے اس ضابطہ حیات کی وضاحت بھی آئی جس کے ذریعے وہ اس دنیا اور آخرت دونوں میں عدل و انصاف اور خوشحالی حاصل کر سکیں۔

The last of these messengers was Prophet Muhammad (saw) and with his guidance, came the clarification of not only the truth of this existence, but also the code of conduct for humanity to achieve justice and prosperity in both this life and the next.
