His Seeking Of Blessings And Cures Using The Qurʾan And Water From The Well Of Zamzam, As Well As Some Hair And A Bowl That Belonged To The Prophet
[Ṣāliḥ:] Whenever I got sick my father would take a cup of water and recite something over it, then tell me to drink some of it and wash my hands and face in it. 24.1
[ʿAbd Allāh:] I saw my father take one of the Prophet’s hairs, place it over his mouth, and kiss it. I may have seen him place it over his eyes, and dip it in water and then drink the water for a cure. Once I saw him take the Prophet’s bowl, wash it in the water jar, and drink from it. And more than once I saw him drink water from the well of Zamzam152 for a cure, and rub it on his hands and face. 24.2
