कई लोग तीन तलाक़ के मुद्दे को नहीं समझते। स्पष्ट है कि जो पति अपनी पत्नी को एक साथ तीन तलाक़ देता है, उसने एक मूर्खतापूर्ण और आपत्तिजनक कार्य किया है। और यह कि सभी मज़ाहिब के अनुसार तलाक़ बाध्यकारी और अंतिम है, इसका अर्थ है कि सज़ा पति को मिलती है, पत्नी को नहीं! पति अपना महर और अपनी पत्नी दोनों खो देता है। पत्नी को इस बात पर खुश होना चाहिए कि उसे ऐसे आदमी से छुटकारा मिल गया जो इतना लापरवाह और बेकाबू है कि अपना आपा खोकर बच्चे की तरह ज़िद में तीन बार तलाक़ बोल देता है।

Many people don’t understand the issue of triple talaq. Obviously, a husband who issues three talaqs altogether against his wife has committed a stupid and offensive act. And the fact that the divorce is binding and final according to all the madhahib means the husband is the one getting punished, not the wife! The husband loses his mahr and his wife. The wife should feel fortunate to get out of a marriage to a man who is so careless and unhinged that he loses control and utters talaq three times like a petulant child.

So how is it helping Muslim women when the new Indian law, passed by the racist criminal thugs of the Indian Hindu BJP politcal party, bans triple talaq?
