A`ইশা (আল্লাহ তাঁর প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হোন), নবী ﷺ-এর স্ত্রী, বর্ণনা করেন যে রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ বলতেন: মধ্যপন্থা অবলম্বন করো (ইবাদত ও আমলে), আর যদি পুরোপুরি মধ্যপন্থা রক্ষা করতে না পারো, তবে মধ্যপন্থার আদর্শে যতটুকু সম্ভব করার চেষ্টা করো, এবং জেনে রেখো, কেউ শুধু নিজের আমলের কারণে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না। তাঁরা (নবী ﷺ-এর সাহাবীগণ) বললেন: হে আল্লাহর রাসূল, আপনিও না? তখন তিনি বললেন:

A--- `A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him), reported that Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) used to say: Observe moderation (in doing deeds), and if you fail to observe it perfectly, try to do as much as you can do (to live up to this ideal of moderation) and be sure that none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone. They (the companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Allah's Messenger, not even thou? Thereupon he said:

আমাকেও নয়, বরং আল্লাহ আমাকে তাঁর রহমতে আবৃত করে রাখেন; আর এ কথাটি মনে রেখো যে, আল্লাহর কাছে সবচেয়ে প্রিয় আমল হলো সেটি, যা নিয়মিতভাবে করা হয়, যদিও তা সামান্যই হয়।” (বুখারী ও মুসলিম)

Not even I, but that Allah wraps me in His Mercy, and bear this in mind that the deed loved most by Allah is one which is done constantly even though it is insignificant.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
