[বিলাল আল-খাওওয়াস:] আমি বনী ইসরাঈলের মরুভূমিতে ছিলাম, এমন সময় হঠাৎ দেখতে পেলাম একজন মানুষ আমার পাশে হেঁটে চলেছেন। আমি বিস্মিত হলাম, কিন্তু তারপর আমার উপলব্ধি হলো যে তিনি আল-খাযির। ১৬.1

[Bilāl al-Khawwāṣ:] I was in the desert of the Israelites when suddenly I found a man walking beside me. I was surprised, but then I was given to realize that he was al- Khaḍir. 16.1

“আমি তোমাকে আল্লাহর নামে জিজ্ঞাসা করছি,” আমি বললাম। “তুমি কে?” “তোমার ভাই আল-খাযির।” “আমি তোমাকে একটি প্রশ্ন করতে চাই।” “করো।” “আল-শাফিঈ সম্পর্কে তোমার মত কী?” “তিনি তো ‘আওতাদ’দের একজন।”105

“I ask you by God,” I said. “Who are you?” “Your brother al-Khaḍir.” “I want to ask you something.” “Go ahead.” “What do you think of al-Shāfiʿī?” “He’s one of the Pegs.”105

“আহমাদ ইবনু হাম্বাল সম্পর্কে কী?” “একজন সত্যবাদী।”106

“What about Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal?” “A truth-teller.”106

“বিশর ইবনুল হারিস সম্পর্কে কী বলবেন?” “তিনি তাঁর ধরনের শেষজন।” “তাহলে আমি কীভাবে আপনাকে দেখতে পাচ্ছি?” “কারণ আপনি আপনার মায়ের প্রতি দয়ালু ছিলেন।” [বাগদাদের এক ব্যক্তি:] আমি একটি জাহাজে ভ্রমণ করছিলাম, আর আমরা একটি দ্বীপে নামলাম। সেখানে একজন বৃদ্ধ, সাদা চুলের মানুষ বসে ছিলেন। আমি তাঁকে সালাম দিলাম, আর তিনি জিজ্ঞেস করলেন আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি। ১৬.2

“What about Bishr ibn al-Ḥārith?” “He’s the last of his kind.” “So how is it that I’m able to see you?” “Because you were kind to your mother.” [A man of Baghdad:] I was traveling on a ship and we landed on an island. There was an elderly white-haired man sitting there. I greeted him and he asked me where I was from. 16.2

"বাগদাদ থেকে," আমি বললাম।

“From Baghdad,” I said.

“যখন তুমি সেখানে পৌঁছাবে,” তিনি বললেন, “ইবনু হাম্বালকে আমার সালাম জানাবে, আর তাকে বলবে, «ধৈর্য ধরো! আল্লাহর প্রতিশ্রুতি সত্য; যারা বিশ্বাস করতে চায় না, তারা যেন তোমাকে হতাশ না করে।»”107

“When you get there,” he said, “give Ibn Ḥanbal my regards, and tell him, «Have patience! God’s promise is true; let not those who will not be convinced make you discouraged.»”107

তারপর তিনি অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেলেন, আর তখন আমরা বুঝতে পারলাম যে তিনি ছিলেন আল-খাযির।

Then he disappeared, and we realized that he was al-Khaḍir.
