پتھر پر گھاس۔
grass on a stone.
وہ مائیں جو بانسری کی آہ پر جیتی ہیں۔
mothers who live on a flute’s sigh.
اور حملہ آوروں کا یادوں سے خوف۔
and the invaders’ fear of memories.

اس زمین پر، زمین کی سردار۔
on this earth, the lady of earth.
ام الابتداءات
the mother of all beginnings.
ختم ہونے کی ماں۔
the mother of all endings.
اسے فلسطین کہا جاتا تھا۔
she was called Palestine.
وہ "فلسطین" کے نام سے پکاری جانے لگی۔
she came to be called Palestine.
اے خاتون، کیونکہ تم میری خاتون ہو۔
o lady, beause you are my lady.
میں زندگی کے لائق ہوں۔
I am worthy of life.
