[Thaʿlab:] I wanted to meet Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal, so I went looking for him. When I found him he asked me what my field was. “Grammar and Arabic,” I told him. He then recited: 33.1

आप खुद को अनदेखा समझ सकते हैं।

You may think yourself unnoticed.

लेकिन सबसे ऊँचा (अल्लाह) तुम्हें देख रहा है।

But One on high is watching you.

कभी न सोना और न भूलना।

Never sleeping or forgetting.

यहाँ नीचे की जाने वाली हर क्रिया।

Every deed done here below.

हम बेपरवाही में दिन बीतने देते हैं।

Heedless do we let the days pass.
