What matters is not what you choose but the fact that you have a choice.

Dit is hoe liberaal secularisme probeert de goddelijke leiding teniet te doen. Als alleen de keuze ertoe doet en wat je uiteindelijk daadwerkelijk kiest irrelevant is, welke behoefte heb je dan nog aan leiding? Welke behoefte heb je aan licht dat je in de juiste richting wijst, dat je wijst naar de beslissingen die je geluk en succes zullen brengen?

This is how liberal secularism attempts to nullify Divine guidance. If all that matters is choice and what you actually end up choosing is irrelevant, then what need do you have for guidance? What need do you have for light pointing you in the right direction, pointing you to the decisions that will bring you happiness and success?

Bestaat er een filosofisch of ethisch systeem dat zo leeg is als het liberaal secularisme? Andere door de mens gemaakte systemen doen tenminste een poging om de mensheid te leiden met praktisch advies en principes die, in theorie, zouden moeten leiden tot individueel en collectief geluk. Maar het liberaal secularisme maakt zich daar geen zorgen over. Alles wat we volgens dit systeem nodig hebben, is simpelweg een keuze kunnen maken zonder enige belemmering. Elke keuze! Zelfs als je de meest destructieve, verraderlijke en zinloze keuze maakt, is het, zolang je die keuze "vrijwillig" hebt gemaakt, oneindig veel beter dan geen keuze hebben of, erger nog, dat God je vertelt wat de juiste keuze is en je een slecht gevoel geeft omdat je de verkeerde keuze maakt.

Is there any philosophical or ethical system as vacuous as liberal secularism? Other man-made systems at least make an attempt to guide humanity with practical advice and principles that, in theory, should lead to individual and collective felicity. But liberal secularism doesn’t bother with that. All we need, according to it, is just to make a choice without any hindrance in doing so. Any choice! Even if you choose the most destructive, vile, nonsensical choice, as long as you “freely” made that choice, it is infinitely better than not having a choice or, worse, having God tell you what is the right choice and making you feel bad for making the wrong choice.

Er is nooit een incoherente manier van denken geweest die hieraan kon tippen. Maar het is dit denken dat de harten van de moderne mens regeert.

There never was a more incoherent way of thinking. But it is this thinking that rules the hearts of modern men.
