In the preceding section we spoke about the Alfaazh (worded expressions) from the perspective of their clarity or lack of clarity in respect to indicating the meaning. Now, in this section, we will speak about the manner in which the Alfaazh are indicative of meanings and the paths of this indication (Dalaalah). The Alfaazh (wordings) from the angle of their indication upon meanings are divided into five categories and these are:

دلالة العبارة、دلالة الإشارة、دلالة النص、دلالة الاقتضاء、المفهوم المخالف

Dalaalat ul-‘Ibaarah, Dalaalat ul-Ishaarah, Dalaalat un-Nass, Dalaalat ul-Iqtidaa’ and Al-Mafhoom Al-Mukhaalafah.
