একজন নারীর জন্য কোনো গায়রে মাহরাম পুরুষের সাথে একান্তে থাকা জায়েয নয়। এবং বেগানা পুরুষের সামনে তার সৌন্দর্য প্রদর্শন (তাবাররুজ) এবং আওরাহ প্রকাশ করাও জায়েয নয়।

Firstly – the prohibition of Khulwah (to be alone in a private space with a non-Mahram). The evidence is the words of the Messenger (saw).

. » وَلاَ يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ، فَإِنَّ ثَالِثَ هُمَا الشَّ يْطَانُ « .

. » وَلاَ يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ، فَإِنَّ ثَالِثَ هُمَا الشَّ يْطَانُ « .

“কোনো পুরুষ যেন কোনো নারীর সাথে নির্জনে না থাকে, কারণ তাদের তৃতীয়জন হলো শয়তান”— আহমাদ সহীহ সনদে উমার (রা.) থেকে এটি বর্ণনা করেছেন। এবং তাঁর কথা।

“A man should not be in khulwah with a woman, since the third of them is the devil”, reported by Ahmad with an authentic chain from Umar (ra). And his words.

“আর তারা যেন তাদের গোপন সাজসজ্জা প্রকাশের উদ্দেশ্যে সজোরে পা না ফেলে।” (TMQ 24:31)। এটি তাবাররুজের (Tabbaruj) কার্যাবলির মধ্যে একটির নিষেধাজ্ঞা। ভাষাগতভাবে তাবাররুজ অর্থ সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশ করা। আল-মুহীত অভিধানে উল্লেখ আছে “সে তাবাররুজ করল – সে পুরুষদের সামনে তার সৌন্দর্য প্রদর্শন করল”, শরীয়তের পরিভাষাতেও এর একই অর্থ। সুতরাং তাবাররুজ সৌন্দর্য গ্রহণ করা থেকে ভিন্ন, কারণ সাজসজ্জা এক জিনিস আর সেই সাজসজ্জা প্রকাশ করা আরেক জিনিস। কোনো নারী সাজতে পারে অথচ তাবাররুজ করে না, যদি তার সাজ স্বাভাবিক হয় এবং দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণের মতো না হয়। অতএব তাবাররুজ নিষিদ্ধ হওয়ার অর্থ সাজসজ্জা সম্পূর্ণভাবে নিষিদ্ধ হওয়া নয়, কারণ তাবাররুজ হলো বেগানা পুরুষদের কাছে সৌন্দর্য ও আকর্ষণ প্রকাশ করা; বলা হয়, নারী তাবাররুজ করেছে, অর্থাৎ সে বেগানা পুরুষদের কাছে তার সৌন্দর্য ও আকর্ষণ প্রকাশ করেছে। এছাড়া যে সকল বর্ণনায় তাবাররুজের কার্যাবলি নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে, সেগুলো পর্যালোচনা করলে স্পষ্ট হয় যে সেগুলো কেবল সাজসজ্জা ও আকর্ষণ প্রকাশ করাকে নিষিদ্ধ করে, সাধারণভাবে সাজসজ্জা নিষিদ্ধ করার কথা সেখান থেকে বোঝা যায় না। সুতরাং আল্লাহ (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তা'আলা)-এর বাণী।

“And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment.” (TMQ 24:31). This is a prohibition of one of the actions of Tabbaruj, and Tabarruj linguistically means to reveal the beautification. Therefore, the meaning of prohibiting Tabarruj is not the absolute prohibition of beautification, since Tabarruj is the revealing of the beauty and charms to the foreign men; it is said the woman did Tabarruj, she revealed her beauty and charms to foreign men. Also supporting these texts that prohibited the actions of Tabarruj, is that with investigation it becomes apparent that they only prohibit the revealing of beautification and charms, and the prohibition of beautification generally is not something which is understood from them. So the words of Allah (swt).

“রাসূলুল্লাহ (SWT) বলেছেন, ‘জাহান্নামবাসীদের মধ্যে দুই শ্রেণির মানুষ আমি দেখিনি: এমন কিছু লোক যাদের হাতে গরুর লেজের মতো চাবুক থাকবে, যা দিয়ে তারা মানুষকে প্রহার করবে; আর এমন কিছু নারী যারা পোশাক পরিহিত হয়েও উলঙ্গ থাকবে, যারা (পাপের প্রতি) আকৃষ্ট হবে এবং পুরুষদেরকেও তার দিকে আকৃষ্ট করবে। তাদের মাথা হবে বুখত উটের কুঁজের মতো একপাশে হেলে থাকা। তারা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে না এবং তার সুগন্ধও পাবে না, অথচ এত এত দূর থেকে তার সুগন্ধ পাওয়া যাবে।’ (মুসলিম কর্তৃক বর্ণিত); সুতরাং এটিও তাবাররুজের কাজসমূহের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। তাঁর কথা “পোশাক পরিহিত হয়েও উলঙ্গ থাকবে” থেকে স্পষ্ট বোঝা যায় যে এর অর্থ সৌন্দর্য-সামগ্রী প্রকাশ করা। তাঁর কথা “(পাপের প্রতি) আকৃষ্ট হবে এবং পুরুষদেরকেও তার দিকে আকৃষ্ট করবে” এমন চলাফেরাকে বোঝায় যা পুরুষদের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করে। আর “তাদের মাথা হবে বুখত উটের কুঁজের মতো একপাশে হেলে থাকা” কথাটি তাদের চুলের সাজসজ্জা প্রকাশ করার কথা বলে, অর্থাৎ চুলকে পাগড়ি, ওড়না বা অনুরূপ কিছুর চারদিকে জড়ো করে উঁচু করে রাখা, যতক্ষণ না তা উটের কুঁজের মতো দেখায়। আর “বুখত” হলো আফগানি উট; অর্থাৎ তারা নিজেদের চুল আফগানি উটের কুঁজের মতো করে সাজাত। এতে স্পষ্টতই পুরুষদের সামনে সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশ করা নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। এর সদৃশ আরও সকল বর্ণনা রয়েছে যেগুলো তাবাররুজের যেকোনো কাজ নিষিদ্ধকরণের সাথে সম্পর্কিত, এবং সেগুলো সবই স্পষ্ট করে যে নিষেধাজ্ঞা হলো সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশের বিষয়ে, যাতে নারীর প্রতি পুরুষের আকর্ষণ উসকে ওঠে। আর তাবাররুজের আভিধানিক অর্থ, অর্থাৎ সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশ করা, তা এ বিষয়কে সমর্থন করে, যা সৌন্দর্য নিজে থেকে আলাদা। সুতরাং নিষিদ্ধ হলো আভিধানিক অর্থে তাবাররুজ এবং যেসব বর্ণনা এর যেকোনো কাজ নিষিদ্ধ করে সেগুলোর ইঙ্গিত অনুযায়ী তাবাররুজ; আর তাবাররুজ ছাড়া সৌন্দর্য গ্রহণ নিষিদ্ধ নয়।

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) said “Two are the types of the the people of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance.” (reported by Muslim); so this is also from the actions of Tabarruj. It is clear from his words “dressed but appear to be naked” that it means the revealing of adornments. His words “inclined (to evil) and make men incline towards it” is talking about movements that attract men’s attention. And the words “Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side” is talking about revealing the beautification done to their hair, in other words, treating and heaping it around a turban or headscarf or anything similar until it became like the hump of a camel. And the “Bukht” is the Afghani camel, in other words, they arranged their hair to look like the hump of an Afghani camel. This is clearly prohibiting the revealing of beautification to men. And similar to this are all the texts which are related to the prohibition of any action of Tabarruj, all of which make it clear that the prohibition is regarding revealing the beautification in order to provoke men’s inclination towards the woman. And this is supported by the linguistic meaning of Tabarruj which is to reveal the beautification, which is different from beautification itself. Therefore, what is forbidden is the Tabarruj with its linguistic indication, and by the indications of the narrations which prohibit any of its actions, whereas beautification without tabaruuj is not forbidden.

আইন প্রণেতা (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তাআলা) পোশাকের একটি শর্ত আরোপ করেছেন যে, তা ত্বককে ঢেকে রাখবে; অন্য কথায়, ত্বককে এমন কিছু দিয়ে ঢাকা বাধ্যতামূলক যা তার রংকে আড়াল করে, অর্থাৎ ত্বক ও তার রং - তা সাদা, লাল, কালো, বাদামি বা অন্য যে রংই হোক। অর্থাৎ আবরণ এমনভাবে ত্বক ও তার রংকে ঢেকে রাখবে যাতে ভেতরের ত্বকের রং বোঝা না যায়; অন্যথায় তা 'আওরাহ-র আবরণ বলে গণ্য হবে না, বরং 'আওরাহ দৃশ্যমান ও অনাবৃত বলে ধরা হবে, কারণ শরিয়তসম্মত আবরণ হলো সেটাই যা রংকে গোপন করে। আইন প্রণেতা (সুবহানাহু ওয়া তাআলা) যে শরীরকে এমনভাবে ত্বক ঢেকে আবৃত করা বাধ্যতামূলক করেছেন যাতে তার রং জানা না যায়, তার প্রমাণ হলো তাঁর এই বাণী থেকে।
