খলিফা নিয়োগের জন্য সাতটি শর্ত রয়েছে, যথা: পুরুষ হওয়া, মুসলিম হওয়া, স্বাধীন হওয়া, প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক হওয়া, সুস্থ বিবেকসম্পন্ন হওয়া, ন্যায়পরায়ণ হওয়া, এবং সামর্থ্যবান ব্যক্তিদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়া।

But if they had referred it back to the Messenger (pbuh) or to those of authority among them.” (TMQ 4:83). The words “people of authority” are not mentioned in the Quran unless it is also mentioned that they are from the Muslims, which indicates that the person of authority must be a Muslim. And since the Khalifah is the person of authority, and he is the one who appoints the people of authority, then it is a condition that he must be a Muslim.
