A bid'ah é o antônimo da Sunnah.

A--- Innovation is the antonym of Sunnah.

A inovação significa legislar aquilo que não foi prescrito por Allah, o Altíssimo. O Mensageiro de Allah ﷺ quer dizer isto quando diz: "Se alguém de vocês introduzir neste nosso assunto, que é a religião, algo que não pertence a ele, será rejeitado." (Bukhari e Muslim)

Innovation means to legislate what has not been ordained by Allah the Almighty. Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) means this when he says: "If any of you introduces into this affair of ours "religion” anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Ele (que a paz esteja com ele) disse: "Apegai-vos à minha Sunnah e ao caminho dos Califas bem guiados que vierem depois de mim; apegai-vos a ele firmemente e evitai as inovações, pois toda inovação é desvio." (Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi e Ibn Majah)

He (Peace be upon him) says: "Stick to my Sunnah and the way of the rightly-guided Caliphs (those who come) after me, stick to it, adhere thereto firmly, and be ware of innovations for every innovation is a misguidance." (Abu Dawud, AtTirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

Ele (que a paz esteja com ele) disse: "... e esta nação se dividirá em setenta e três seitas religiosas — todas no Fogo, exceto uma, e essa é aquela em que eu e meus companheiros estamos hoje, ou seja, seguindo o Alcorão e a Sunnah do Profeta ﷺ.” (Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi e Ibn Majah)

He (Peace be upon him) says: "... and this nation will be divided into seventy-three religious sects, -all in Hell, except one, and that one is: on which I and my companions are today, i.e. following the Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunnah.”(Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

Allah, o Todo-Poderoso, declarou a inocência dele ﷺ de pertencer ao povo das Inovações, dizendo: {Quanto àqueles que dividem a sua religião e se separam em seitas (de todos os tipos de seitas religiosas), tu (ó Muhammad ﷺ) não tens nenhuma relação com eles, de modo algum.

Allah the Almighty declared his (Peace be upon him) innocence from belonging to the people of Innovations, saying: {Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) have no concern in them in the least.

Their affair is only with Allah}. (Al-An'am, 159) Observação: o texto original já vem com a referência ao Corão, que aqui é mantida como está. A tradução do versículo deve ser feita conforme a forma usual na obra, por isso o trecho é apresentado da seguinte forma: O seu assunto está somente com Allah}. (Al-An'am, 159)
